Black - programs middle team or B level
White - programs worst team or C level

...so now you can move the goalpost and rant about how it still doesn't matter, because they haven't beaten an "Elite" team. No one, as far as I am concerned cares about beating the EHF "Elite", all I care is that it is a good hockey team that can hold its own. However, every time someone states that fact, EHF dads get all in a huff because that can't be, right, there is no such thing in this universe where good hockey teams exist outside the EHF. And getting EHF dads in a huff is a lot of fun, and that is all I care about. Carry on.

Let's look at this from a conservative perspective. You have some decent players, you like your coach and you basically cleaned up the MPHL. If that's your definition of "good hockey" than so be it. This thread (not necessarily you) has indicated feeling quite strongly about the strength of the team. Conservatively speaking, based on matchups and scores, it would be a good select level team. After all, isn't that all you really care about?

So now you bring select hockey into the equation? What is select hockey? Talking about being confusing. Other than that, I do admit, sometimes this whole EHF hoohaa gets a bit much, but pressing their buttons is still fun. Listen, I had a conversation, a while ago, with a coach that I trust a lot, a goalie coach, who runs his own school, is very successful and produces results. This is what he said - The EHF without a doubt is the better league of the three, but it doesn't mean you get the better development out of it, hockey players have a hundred possible roads to get where they want to get. So I go with coach first, team second, parents and league third. Everyone here believes he has figured it out, and that's fine with me. I go with what I feel is best for my kids development. I admit, the first two being equal I would probably go with an EHF team, but when do you ever get that? So, I will take a good coach over the league on any given day.
You might disagree and think that playing for an EHF elite team gives your kid the best chance of succeeding, maybe you even think that the coaches in the EHF are better throughout. I am ok with that argument. What I find laughable are statements that an 05 team, just based on the fact that it originated from the MPDHL would be beaten by an 07 EHF Elite team. That makes me think, what are you/these people smoking?

Well sir...you and I agree. The team you play on ultimately means nothing. Some will argue playing with good players pushes you to do your best, etc, but honestly...a great player... the one who has that killer instinct...he plays that way no matter what team he's on, what year he was born, or what league he plays in. If you find a coach that can bring that out in a player and push him or her to maximize their talent, then you have something. I do have to say that the 07 IHC team is nasty. They would compete against many 05 teams, not just the cane's.

Have they beat a top 20 team? Doesn't look like it.

At the super series in Rochester the team had 1 win, 1 overtime loss and 3 losses against elite teams. In the last two years they have beaten elite teams of the junior rangers, junior bruins, Worcester Sharks, East-coast Wizards, Seacoast Spartans all of which were E9 at one point or another. They have never been beaten by an E9 team. Team is consistently ranked in the top 15 in the state and that's what they are no more no less. Every player comes from within 20 miles of the rink and do this without drawing from any major metropolitan area. If you want to compare that to minuteman flames go ahead but it's apples and oranges. Only a moron would expect the same level of play from such drastically different demographics.

Your the moron! The Hurricanes beat the AAA teams of those programs NOT the Elite teams. Just bc they have the same name and same uniform doesn't mean it's the elite team. How many times do we have to go over this? For the record the market that you pull from is saturated with hockey players.

Yes, they were all the ELITE teams in each of those organizations...not the AAA. I am well aware of how to differentiate the two levels but thanks for the clarification. I can list the coaches if you need to check. Or better yet why don't you call the head coach of the 2005 hurricanes independent team for the scores and the coaches of each team. He would love to hear from you... better yet get your team to play them tough guy. This is fact..why is it so hard for you to believe. You obviously have never seen them play and have something against them...let me guess...your kid got cut??

I have to agree with this poster. It is very strange to me how aggressive everyone seems to be towards this team. From reading through this post no one that seems to be from the team is making any outrageous claims, they are just saying they didn't have adequate competition in whatever halfa** league they were in. They are playing an independent schedule...so what? It doesn't seem like they are claiming to be better than anyone other than the teams that were in their league. Where is all the hate coming from?

Definitely not a HURRICANE Dad, I actually know very little about the team and certainly can't weigh in on how good they are but - point taken, that guy appears to have veered off the tracks a bit

Team played in an ok tournament, played 5 games and lost 4. Barely beating the Conqys is nothing special. Have you considered Vally League?

Funny ... ! Bragging where & when ? Over the summer do you mean Sept 10th same as all the other tournaments? You obviously know nothing! They entered the 05 division and then 05 parity schedule got switched and most of the 05's team could no longer play. We suggested they stay in and play with 04's and they won. What an a-hole! Speak of what you know... which is not much! Love that you follow them so closely.
