Re: Next season

When is the right time for the head coach to tell the team he is not coaching the team next year?

Kings will give you a verbal then pull the rug out from underneath you.

see above post.. of course ! a verbal is what ??? an agreement that they will take your kid unless someone better shows up at evals. Sorry your kid got cut !

You sound like a pompous know it all. Bet your kids coach loves you

Looks like your device auto corrected "realist" to "pompous know it all"

If you think stating easily backed up facts makes someone pompous, then so be it.

Re: Next season

"Signing a contract", absolutely hilarious to read when talking about kids of this age....you folks are pretty funny I'll tell you that!

Except you do sign a contract.

Re: Next season

Thanks tips, I'm well aware of that.....and it's still funny! I think it's hilarious to watch all the dads act like Scott Boras during free agency.....

Hi All

New to club hockey and have a question. Have been told this is the time of the year to start looking at new teams. My son seems happy where he is and the coach seems happy with his play. Do I need to ask the coach if he will be keeping him or just start lining up potential spots?

Start having your player skate with other teams and commit to a few try outs.

NEVER listen to a coach who tells you "you're all set" - NEVER.

YOU pay the bills - and YOU have to watch out for YOUR player - period.

Re: Next season

^^ Exactly - well said.
