Hahaha your kids aren't Midgets yet, are they?
The tournament rules were wrong and they went with USA hockey tie breaker rules....I think.
USA Hockey OT Rules
1. The results of the head-to-head games played between the tied teams in the following order:
a. Standings - Most points.
b. Most total wins (whether in regulation, overtime and shootout).
c. Differential - Subtracting goals scored against from goals scored in these games, the positions being determined in order of the greatest surplus.
d. Quotient - Dividing the goals scored in these games by the goals scored against, the positions being determined in order of the greatest quotient. A quotient involving dividing by zero (0) has higher standing than a quotient from dividing by any number other than zero. Where two or more
teams have no goals against and the quotient tiebreaker is required, the teams shall be ranked high to low in descending order of “goals for.”
Both terrier Tier 1 teams pulled in Elite kids from their own and other organizations. It was a T1/AAA tourney. Stay classy.
That's a strategy older than the hills. Like the Patriot's fans say, "All teams do it so then it's O.K.!"
P.S. - Did you happen to see which team leads the NFL in fumbles this year?
Oh so sorry you lost. Tough to lose I get it. As far as teams pulling in kids from other teams that might be true. It's a tournament folks, a lot of times kids can't make tournaments so they ask other kids from other teams to play. That's a fact. I was at that tournament (not on a Terrier team) and can guarantee that most if not all teams had alternates playing. Really nothing wrong with it. Get over it, move on. Enjoy the rest of your time off with your families.
Also, have to agree Terrier organization one of the best around. Never really hear negatives about them.
Teams do get other kids for tournaments especially when kids can't make it, I get it. The difference is the terriers pulled in elite kids to replace their tier 1 kids and white went outside the program to borrow an elite kid for a Tier 1 tournament. Not classy. Egos must be very fragile at the terriers if they feel they need to stoop that low to compete.
You don't bring elite kids to a tier 1 tourney. Simple as that
You have no idea what you're talking about. The call downs played a pivotal role. Terrier White loses their first game (won in double OT) If the EHF non terrier elite kid isn't there. Scored their first goal. Terrier Red called in an elite kid who played their first game, a 10-1 drubbing where the goal diff was used in the tie breaker to get them in the finals. Both teams are on the outside looking in for the final if they played their tier 1 rosters.
Good god. Beating a dead horse to death again?
Bottom line is the terriers cheated and won and, sadly, the organization doesn't care.
Bottom line is your kid got to play in a low-key holiday tournament (3X3 no less) have fun and compete and sadly for you it was about winning.
Hey it works for the Patriots!
Exactly. I love these New England parents that complain about cheating and then the buy their kids Brady jerseys and sit them in front of the T.V. every weekend to watch the Cheatriots. Somehow the high horse isn't so high when it's your football team.
I think what happened and maybe the Terriers should clarify is someone pointed out that their tournament rules were not in synch with the standard USA Hockey rules and they went back to them. An honest mistake corrected.
Can someone clarify how and what rules were changed. From what I know there were 3 teams that were tied, all went 3 and 1. So they determined what 2 teams went to finals by goals for/ goals against. Is that correct? Isn't that what most tournaments do?
And not to beat a dead horse but the Breakers U12 girls and the breakers Tier 1 rostered 1 girl who is on the upper level girls team. Not a big deal, I thinks most teams even the Lovell Knights had kids from an EHF team, the Conquistadors had a few Advantage kids so let's not make it seem like the Terriers were the only ones that had kids brought in to fill spots for the tournament.
Really plain and simple all teams played 4 games, the two with the best records made the finals and the winner of that game won the championship.
BSB Tier 1 played their EHF roster. No additions.
Should have just flipped a coin for who went to the finals. Believe me the girls would have been ok with it...
No BSB elite kid played in the tournament. Sorry your justification for breaking the rules is flawed.
Wrong. No BSB elite played for the Tier 1 team. 100% certain
100% right. I know the 2 elite coaches from Duxbury. They were there with their kids.
I'm on that team asshat and you are delusional. There was not a single non rostered player playing. WTF is with you nuts and your conspiracies?. Duxbury ?. What????
I think he means the 3x3 tournament. That defiantly happened
He is on the "72" Breakers
You can't deduce what he meant? Really?
The terriers are already worried about tryout turnout. Unfortunately, they panicked and made a bad call by changing the rules. After the scandal of the coach/director that stole a ton of money from the org and parents last year, they needed to win their own tourney/showcase in order to entice players.
Tier 1 Terriers have been "borrowing" kids from the Elite team and even from other teams for years. Regular season, playoffs, tournaments, whatever.
Know who else does that? Breakers. Every time you play the South Shore teams they have different kids.
Relax and get use to it. By the time they're midgets you'll see a roster is hardly a fixed roster. One weekend a kid will be on one team and the next he shows up on another. Relax I hope the kids had fun and let's leave it at that.
