Anyone have any experience with this team. Thinking of taking my son to club hockey this year & they are closest to my house. Have heard they are more of a town-level than a elite level team. Can anyone help! Thx
Because Tyngsboro is so close to Haverhill ????????? Makes no sense ....
If the OP is in Haverhill then just go to the Warriors ....
Haha, yeah, that's helpful. I'm sure he never thought of that.
Plus, some of the Warrior teams practice in Malden. And I don't think you know when you try out which rink they will be out of.
OP, what you get for your added tuition is more desirable and consistent practice ice, and no 6AM games like you do in Valley League. That, to me, has always made club hockey worth it.
You also won't be playing VHL teams that dress elite org players whenever they feel like it, such as for important games and playoffs.
I've heard there are some good coaches in the Preds organization. I'm sure there are bad ones too. No different than town there.
Over the course of time, you will understand better your kid's desire to play, and see whether he has the potential to make teams that are another notch above, like the Warriors.
But, I would definitely say that an organization like the Predators is an alternative to town hockey, not heads and shoulders above it. These teams fill a need. There is nothing wrong with that.
Good guys running the show over there. Just not a big org. They do for the kids. Great option if you do not have a high ender.
They are moving to the EHF Elite next year
No they are not. They are going to move to Amesbury and take players from Valley, Seacoast and Islanders. So you will be hearing a little more about them soon enough

They're going to take players from IHC, VJW, and SS???? How? Are they going to kidnap them? Preds are a glorified Valley League team program. If you think people would jump ships from a legitimate program like the other 3 mentioned to skate for them you're nuts!!!!!

Depends on the player/parent - maybe they won't even think about it IF they are one of the delusional parents who firmly believe that THEIR kid is the next GRETZKY and NO ONE is better - so watch out Bruins!
Or maybe they may think about if they've been playing for some butt-clown coach at one of the other 3, paying over 3k for another daddy coach who plays his kid and his kids buddies as the main line 85% of the game.
It's youth hockey - where ever your player has fun, gets good and actual instruction from a good coach (rare) and learns to love the game - that's a perfect place for them - if they are THAT good - they'll get noticed if that's your end game.
Good One. I do not think they could get kids from those programs to play even if it was free!! Been with Seacoast for two years now and have not had one 6am game. Actually, have not even had any 7am games either. Nice try.

I heard about this Amesbury rink. Does anyone have a website or info on it? Sounds like it would be great!
Does anyone have any legitimate feedback on this program? I was thinking of bringing my son to tryout as well. He is 2004. Thank you.
Don't worry too much about the organization, worry about the coach. I would strongly suggest you try & take in a game or two first. Make sure you and your child are okay with how the coaches act/react during the game. Are they crazy screamers, do they offer corrective advice after a shift, etc. Also look a the overall skill level of the team, will your kid fit in or will he be the best player on the team? If you are both satisfied reach out to the coach and get your child out with the team for a practice. If you can find a parent willing to talk to you, ask about skills, ice time, etc. Essentially that's all the org is really doing, scheduling ice and skills, everything else is the coach.
I don't know the 04 coach so I cannot offer any input, besides what is good for one child/family may not be a good fit for another. One of the nice parts of club hockey is being able to find the teamcoach combination that works best for your child. You are going to be spending a fair amount of money and time with the team so the best advice is to do some homework and find the right fit.
my kid played there...we did not get cut...we left! Organization is a joke...kid's coach was good guy but not a hockey guy...team had kids that could barely skate...expensive for what you get...skills end before Thanksgiving...i would look into other orgs before this one or stay in town and pay for extra skills until kid ready to make it to better org. they tell you what you want to hear and when you start you realize just how much was not true....just my thoughts
