Observing the Islander 06 team making a ton of moves, poaching kids from E9 teams. Are they gearing up for a Q run, similar to what they did with the 05's? Gonna be interesting to see the parents blow that team up once they realize their special little superstar is not the "man" anymore on a team of one man shows. Keep trying Gallant, one of these days you will realize chemistry is just as important in developing a team. Not just collecting the best 15 skaters in the area.

Sorry to hear your kid is not welcome back to the team , hey there is always the VHL ....
After making it to the championship game last season, the 2005 Islander team brought in 5 new players this year. Why all the moves? Not much has changed.
05 Team is 4th in EHF behind MFR, MMF, and BJE. IHC way is to keep changing players instead of developing. It did not work for the 05 team and unless you have a great coach it wont work for 06 team. IHC should focus on what a kid could be with development and not what they are at 10 years old. Those are 2 very different things.
Flames/Eagles dont seem to blow up their teams every year and in my opinion are the class of the EHF - Why the difference with the Isles? And I"m not targeting 06 birth year specifically - in general flames/eagles don't seem to have as much turnover.
Flames won't stand a chance next year. That team barely has a coach and that's why kids don't want to play for them. IHC is a better run program with a great coach. No need to get Jealous people...

the fact that you think people may be jealous of 10 year olds just says a lot about you......
I know several of the parents and players you're referring to in your post. Couldn't be further from the truth! First and foremost, they weren't poached. Also, neither the players nor parents that I am familiar with think their kids are superstars! Sometimes circumstances dictate a change! Doesn't mean they're unhappy where they're currently playing, just that it may be more convenient or family circumstances or employment necessitate considering other options. Two parents I know very well and they, and their kids, would bring nothing but class to any organization they're affiliated with ! Consummate team players and parentsare realistic . Hope they stay where they are this year, and if they opt to play elsewhere, will be sorely missed!
You must be delusional if you don't know that the IHC are and have been poaching top E9 players. Why else would they invite these "top" kids to practices? They do have non EHF tryouts. Why not wait to see these kids then? True, Parents will do what they think is best for their kids and what's best for their personal situations. That's a separate issue. Unfortunately the OP is correct on this one.

Hate to break it to you but all teams move players during this time of year and this year it's no different. This will be a typical year for moves for IHC, 2 maybe 3 players and move from 4 to 5 defenseman.
The team is not imploding and will make similar moves to other organizations. They're also not gearing up to focus on the flames. I know many of the parents who's kids play for the IHC 06 team and they couldn't be nicer. No one thinks their kid is a superstar.
I wish my kid would be asked or "poached" to play on their team. Best of luck to them.
Hmmm.....and why wouldn't they be focused on taking down the Flames? Aren't they the team to beat? It's a competitive leaugue isn't it? So you mean they are more focused on development . That's friggin hilarious. Keep drinking the cool aid buddy.

I think what the guy was saying was it's not all about beating the flames. What makes you think they're not focused on development? They've consistently moved up in the standings year after year, I don't think you can knock them for that. Regular season: Mite minor, near the bottom; mite major moved up to 5th or 6th; squirt minor 4th, and this year in second place. Playoffs are another story but... orange and blue kool aid doesn't seem too bad.
Hmmmm...so how many core kids(you know, the kids that they started with) have retained(developed)..just wondering? Any kids move up from their tier 1 team?

Since they're just squirts it's hard to measure development by looking at core team members. You would need to assume that all kids moving from their MDP really want to play hockey. You're talking about 7 year old kids. I can say there are a core group of kids that have played there since mites that are developing into pretty good hockey players and good kids. Out of the 14 players from Mite Major, 10 remain (which I think is pretty consistent with other teams).
I would imagine if you spoke to the parents who's kids have moved on from this team, they feel like their kids are developing better in the leagues they are currently playing in.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
That's true.... most of the players they are bringing in this year or (should I say parents) have never won any big games...... so now they will hitch on with the islanders and try to make their dream come true. However it's still beer league down the road....
And yes to these parents it is about beating the flames .... several of the players didn't make the Brick team and parents are dying to beat the flames. Hitch a ride!

I wouldn't say several, there were 2 that tried out and didn't make it. The goalie and a defenseman. Why wouldn't they want to beat the flames? It's a good measuring stick. I hope they do beat them. I know one of the kids that is being considered for the team and with his addition, they'll beat them! Move along pal, no one hitching a ride!

Except that your little bender will never win a thing and still end up in a beer league.

Sweet burn.... I'll go tell him what you said.
Sidebar Flamer, how long did it take for you to come up with calling him a bender? That is a classic burn. I admire your creativity, combining the bender call with a reference to beer league - awesome stuff. Not to mention you were able to avoid the "Sorry your kid got cut." I assume you are the same guy that yells, "Ref, you suck!" along the glass?

So they (IHC) put a superteam together, then refuse to play anyone else outside of EHF, that may give them a good game. Keep ducking. At least the Flames will play anyone anywhere at anytime.

Same goes for Jr. Terriers, Jr Eagles and South Shore kings. All will take anyone on and let the best team win. Props to these orgs for doing that. Gallant can keep protecting his teams, but everyone knows the truth outside of the IHC inner club.
You call them boring because you know full well that your precious 04 from TG Tier 1 couldn't make the 06 Flames Elite. Sad. How's the job search going?
