Being told the USPHL showcase this weekend is another step to EHF North and South. 2 divisions of one league. They will have multiple "showcases" during the season and will end with joint playoffs and single champion. Goal is get all the best players on the east coast in the same league and limit out of region travel to a couple times a year. The real life version of the super league. Not a lot changes but will drag remaining players out of E9 earlier. Full integration 2 years away...... actually makes sense as hockey nut parents wont be able to help themselves!
This will surely end all of the east coast kids going out west for the USHL!!
yeah , why would a kid want to go west and play in front of a sold out arena of 3 or 4 thousand people when they could stay here and freeze in ice cold rinks with ten people in the stands , five of which are there for the next game .....

Why leave the Northeast to go out to Cowpoke Iowa just so you can come back east for college?
The younger players will stay east before college. The older gap year players may venture out west. Either way, Watch NCDC baby!!

Maybe the parents and kid actually value education and raising their kid rather than sending out a 16 year old to billet at some family and go to some crap high school....maybe that?
Most public high schools where these kids are billeted are hardly 'some crap high school.' They are in the midwest after all. And Jerry York and Teddy Donato really care where the kid spent his last nine months of high school.

Yeah, makes total sense to leave a great prep school to head out west to attend podunk high school. College coaches will tell you whats best for them whats not great for your son. Remember that.
A 'really great prep school' is only in your mind. It has to be good because I'm dropping a lot of money. And compare prep hockey with the USHL for a moment...boom roasted.

Maybe kid can wait a year and do his gap year out in the Mid West then.
You guys done? NCDC vs USHL vs Prep has nothing to do with the OP's post.
Yes. A Super League is coming. EHF bigwigs realize they can't compete with HPHL and T1EHL drawing from a talent pool that's within 15 minutes of the rink and playing crappie teams six times each.
This applies to Organizations that have Junior teams like the SSK, IHC, BB etc
Ummmm, I know what the USPHL is. And you have that backwards. Those are Juniors teams that have youth organizations. The OP was talking about that Junior affiliation with the USPHL going down into the youth organizations, ending the EHF affiliation. It's just his opinion at this stage that he is offering up for discussion, one that has been discussed before, and one that I think does make sense and will eventually happen.
