If you have to ask this question the E9 is a perfect spot for your child.
The Fed isn't for everyone.
The FED isn't for everyone? Listen, my kid plays FED and even I can say, except for the first line on most teams, the rest are high end Tier 1 players. Top couple of teams are luck to have almost 2 full lines of legit Elite, the same can be said for E9. Stop worrying about which league your kid plays in and get him or her on a team that they is solid, can compete and your kid shows signs of developing. If that is the case, you are ahead of 60-70% of the players out there. And here is some insite. Your kid may be better suited for development by being on the first line of a tier 1 team than 3rd line of Elite. But I know....it's more about being able to say your kid is on Elite
your delusional. Fed has more talent but only by a slim margin. Combine both leagues and top 4 teams might be 3 FED-1 E9 but balance of the leagues are the same. If you have the options and coaching staffs and playing time being the same then yes Fed. But if your going to Fed just because of a name then you could miss out on a good team or good coaches So look around and make sure its the right fit for your kid.
This guy is right. If you have an opportunity with a great coach in the Fed, then by all means take it. But if you are taking a spot on a Fed team with a mediocre coach at the expense of a great coach in the E9, you are making a mistake. Put aside your ego and do what's best for your kid. The league may be slightly less competitive, but it's certainly good enough hockey for your kid to prepare for the next level.
Take the IHC out of the mix and yes they are very similar. IHC will beat all comers in New England. Of course some delusional Fed Tier1 black parent will tell their teams are "legit" and would beat the E9 teams. Seek out the program and coach that works for you. Players jump back and forth between leagues year to year.
^^Exactly. Find the best coach and program nearest you in either league, and you'll be fine.
I agree with a previous poster that the OP is a **** stirrer.
But for those who really want the truth (I've had two boys go through to high school) it really doesn't matter at all.
Both leagues have some of the same upside and downside with coaches, talent, parents, players etc.
The key is if your player is on a team with friends, or just kids he likes and is happy and you can find a decent coach who understands that he's NOT an NHL coach and never will be, and has a good rapport with the kids...then THAT's the team for your player - period.
If he/she is an "all-star" and head and shoulders above the rest, they'll be found.
If not, then just enjoy the team, the game, and be proud that your player likes to play and has fun doing it.
That's the truth. And now you can cue the absolute moron parents on here that will most the inevitable "sorry your kid got cut" comment.....mainly because - THEIR kid probably got cut.

You're making too much sense. And as someone who has had a kid pass through this and played high school hockey, I can confirm that you are dead-on accurate.
doesn't matter what is said on this board. My kid has some great coaches and the entire team has developed throughout the season. Right in the middle at 06 level. But I'm sure if I said the team the slander of the coaches and organization would flood in.
