Has anyone gone to any '05 and '06 E9 tryouts this week? How have the numbers been? Rumor has that tryout numbers are down at those levels across the board from previous years. Do people really believe they need to be in the Fed?

The numbers are down because by now (05 and 06) know not to bother showing up at a tryout without a contract in hand or some communication from the coach that says yep, there's 3 spots and 5 kids I'm looking at (yours included). Otherwise, no need to go unless you want the ice time or to try and do your own evaluation against the kids. Which, of course, is futile.

I have only been at 09 and 07 E9 tryouts (decent program) this week and numbers were pretty big. So, although that's anecdotal evidence, I think the poster above is correct.

E9 numbers are definitely down this year. Keep in mind numbers will improve once Fed elite teams
Are finalized and E9 teams stuff the rosters with the leftovers.

E9 Peewees tonight and those were slow compared to last year.

E9 Squirt last night (good program) numbers are up significantly from what I saw last year.
Said the guy that doesn't know the difference between spelling and grammar.
I'm generally not a d*uche about this stuff. Only when a guy knocks someone for being a knucklehead and in doing so proves himself to be a knucklehead. The post loses all credibility when you misspell the key word. Like we're supposed to believe that this guy is capable of telling us who is and is not a knucklehead.
Too many teams not enough bodies to go around. Youth hockey at its breaking point.
How do you know the numbers have been anemic? That seems to be supported, and contradicted, by some posts above by people that have been there. I don't have any insight on it, just curious as to what you're basing your comment on.

You want a spreadsheet or a link to the cloud based solution with all the data? This is the D-board fella. I am commenting on what I have seen and what I have been told. There are lots of people in the hockey world who talk.

So you're basing your analysis on a sample of 10, maybe 15, teams? Out of hundreds across Massachusetts and New England. Cool story bro.
