Re: Parents rise up!!

Anon
To all you parents out there with children playing this weekend on teams that brought in players or playing illegal players stand up to your coach and tell him No! go with what got you there all year. It is unbelievable that some of you just sit back and let someone else who hasn't been there take you child's spot.
You mean like a sit in? Yeah, that'll work.

Why is it up to the parents? Shouldn't the organization be the one that displays the proper spirit of fairness? Shouldn't the league be concerned?

Forget this year. You aren't going to affect change. Vote with your feet. Take your kid to a program with greater integrity. Ask the coach for his policies regarding playing time and shortening the bench. Ask the GM about their policy on using non-regular players - including "alternates" - in key games.

Re: Parents rise up!!

I like this. Keep your kid away from the coach is who is getting rid of him , that will show him! I'm sure the coach would be real upset that player they are not bringing back won't be at a big game.
Also, tell me more about programs with integrity? There is one program I know, that does not do the "contract" hustle and holds tryouts and picks a team from the try out. Also the same program has lost coaches the past three seasons , who have taken the entire team to another organization because of this programs reluctance to let coaches have input.

I have had more positive experiences with programs than negative ones. I can name more than a dozen programs that, from personal experience or the experiences of the many dads that I've gotten to know over the years, I would consider ethical. I cannot name more than a handful that aren't. Programs, not coaches. All programs will have bad seeds that sneak in, but they generally don't last.

But, I play by the rules, written or otherwise, and do my best to not be one of "those parents." I expect my kid to live up to his commitments, and listen with respect to his coaches, So, maybe my experience is different from yours?

Wow. Must suck to be you!

Nobody said any coach was cutting any kid. The topic was a coach that brings in ringers to play the "BIG GAME."

Nobody was complaining about "the 'contract' hustle" or teams picked before tryouts.

You must listen to people calling Adam Jones on 98.5 "negative" and wonder what they are talking about.

Blah blah blah...
Yes, I'm sure if that was your kids team you would do exactly that. Especially if you haven't been handed your contract yet (or even if you have, tight?). Maybe it's the closest program to them and transportation is an issue, maybe their kid really likes the team and they are not losing play time. Bottom line, your kid is probably playing "this team" this weekend and it sucks to play cheaters but it is in no way the Parents responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen and I highly doubt you would. We left a program we weren't happy with. Not everyone has that option and not everyone should be fighting your battle. Good luck this weekend

Re: Parents rise up!!

Still looking for program name

Re: Parents rise up!!

you are not getting a organization name
because in spite of all that has been written
he still wants his little duster to play for them

Not OP but ECW is pretty by the book with tryouts and contracts. They would fit other description too (although three teams sounds like a lot), so that would be my guess.
