So I am going to apologize to all the EHF Tier 1 White, BHL National, MPDHL Elite and EMHL parents as this honest information will undoubtably bruise the ego a bit. I'm also going to apologize to the Fed elite parents, tier 1 black parents, e9 elite and BHL American parents.
1) Fed Elite and e9. Your children are not "elite". There is no such thing in hockey. Simply put, they are AAA or Tier 1. Sorry, your kid is not elite.
2) Fed tier 1 Black and BHL American, your kids are not AAA hockey players. They are AA, or by USA hockey classifications, Tier 2. Please don't refer to your players as "AAA". They are not. They are AA. For a few of you MPDHL teams, you are free to call yourself AA. Only for a few though. In the US that is the same classification as Town A. Sorry but while talking by the water cooler at work please tell everyone you have an A or a AA player not a AAA player.
3) Fed tier 1 white, BHL National, MPDHL elite, and EMHL, your kids are not AAA let alone AA hockey players. They are B players. Some teams should be classified as tier 2 but honestly, most should be classified as tier 3, or Town B. You are the third level of your program so by USA and Canadian hockey standards your tier 3. I know, I know. This stings. All the money spent on the bags and the jackets and telling your buddies at work about your little All-Star that can't skate backwards. If you look at it this way, B is only one letter removed from the first letter in the alphabet. Really not that bad. Could be on the D or E team? That would be really tough to explain though.
So there we have it folks. No elite. Just AAA. Then AA, then A or B. Please, please use the correct terminology. Please also educate your children on this. You are misleading them when you tell them they are a AAA player and they are in the EMHL.
And yes EMHL or fed white or BHL national parent, classifications and proper terminology does matter.
First, in the rest of the country, "AAA" is "elite." Except it's called Tier 1 now by USA Hockey, to align with American Juniors. Something you should know before you blast the system.
But what you say is true. Which is why 2017/18 will be the last year for EHF Elite. Oh, they will still have it, the best "Tier 1" color will slide up to Elite. But the "Elite" teams will move to the USPHL and compete in super-regional showcases.
My guess is E9 will follow suit, possibly to the T1EHL. Lot of travel, though. That could prevent it.
Let me guess. Your oldest is either a peewee minor or peewee major and you think you know everything at this point? For your lesson of the day, tier 1 has always been in place. Not something new by USA hockey.
No other top program in the country calls their team "elite". Simply AAA and Tier 1. Same for Canada. Try taking your EMHL or Fed White or BHL AAA team and playing a Canadian AAA team. See what happens donkey.
My hockey rankings clearly defines the tiering levels and in fact picks on the northeast about it's naming conventions. The egos in this part of the country are the one that caused it.
Last, the Fed is not going anywhere. That USPHL super Duper league for the youth ain't happening. Neither is the Tier 1 elite thing with e9. e9 teams can't compete in that league. In fact, the mighty BA, the only team who has been playing in that league locally performs extremely poorly. They also get crushed in other national tournaments. If they don't have a better year this year they are done. Monarchs will have a second shot at trying to hang on in that league as well. Getting the boot if they can't perform.
Now go back to watching your kid on his Islanders number three team.
Sounds like a butt-hurt Town coach getting upset over marketing term. You may be correct on some of the lower tier programs however if you take the time to check out the myhockeyrankings.com you will see in every Tier 1 age group you will see all the top teams in the Fed and Elite well represented amongst the the top teams across the country, some teams in the top 10, many teams in the top 25 and most in the top 50. As further proof the past two champions of the "Q" have come from the EHF in fact 2016 was an all Fed final.
Every kid playing in the EHF Elite and E9 will not make it to the D1, Just as kid on BU or BC will not make it to the NHL but the are playing against the very best at their respective age groups ie..ELITE.
Stop worrying about what others are doing and enjoy what you are doing, your negative judgmental rantings are accomplishing nothing besides showing the world how small of a person you are
Fed Elite clearly the best? wow, try playing some E9 teams instead of ducking them before you go around proclaiming the Fed Elite as the best. No, not a troll, and no my kid did not get cut. Just sick of this ass clown who probably has a kid in town B hockey, jumping on the board and stirring the pot by making some random statement saying Fed Elite clearly the best. Get a life you frickin tool! Yea, you touched a nerve, too bad you can't figure out what makes your wife twitch. Loser.
Mid Fairfield Rangers are elite at all levels and are in NE .....
Just sayin .
My kid is elite. Coach told me so
