To set the record straight- while they play in the International B division at the Q, this year the JR Bruins were a shootout away from playing back at the Videotron in the finals on Sunday. They lost their opener to Espoo, Finland then did well in the losers bracket before losing in a 10 round shootout in the semi-finals to a Quebec team. They actually won the game in OT on a legit tip in but in fine Quebec fashion the goal was called back. The team that won it (Riga, Latvia) could arguably play with any team in any division up there, they were solid.
Jr. Bruins get grandfathered in every year as well.
they do but it is for the lower division not the Elite/AAA
And the Jr. Bruins (from Brighton) get blown away every year. Its more about the experience than the competition for them. Let's focus on the hockey clubs that are there to play hockey.
You mean like the EHF teams that get blown away every year? It all about the experience, nobody's going up there really believing they will win it all.
The Junior Bruins (Brighton) are kinda like mascots up there. Do they play local town peewee teams? they don't play at the main rinks either, think they play at a pond down the street?
Actually the Jr B's make it pretty far this year.
They are not in the top division so they are guaranteed more games and the entire experience is what they go for
My first year in the EHF and I can tell you one thing the majority of the kids in the EHF are not high end kids. The top team all have a few then there is a drop off. I would call it over saturation of teams in MA. If you were to create 3 teams of the best kids around then you would have a truly elite team. In the end it does not mater just enjoy your time with your kids playing the great game of hockey because it will be over before you know it......
