I am a little confused. Are the islanders 2 teams supposed to be better than the islanders 1 teams? I keep seeing this trend. Can't wait for the roster games once the season starts.
Roster games? They will play whole team games to ensure a black ranking. Answer me this, at the 07 level, the islanders are automatically in black due to their finish this past season. Why would they have their other team play in the black parity if only one team from each organization is allowed in each color level?
Nah, too many different colored helmets and gloves to be last year's Islanders players. Different color gloves and helmets, plus helmet stickers didn't match jersey numbers. Last year's teams jerseys though, obviously borrowed. Islanders 1 wore light blue all weekend, Islanders 2 wore orange.
The only thing that would make sense is creating the best team it could from kids who didn't make elite and then a team below that, etc. This way, the next best players would all be on the Tier 1 Black team. In other words, I doubt they tried to have two "balanced" Tier 1 teams.
I hope the EHF becomes aware that the Rangers had no business being in this tourney. That team was completely new and no where near the skill of last seasons team.
What happened to CT?
The team from last season went elite. (whole team) The team at parity was a new team and will struggle in silver.
The point I am making is that it changed the strength of schedule for all teams involved in the tourney. That bracket was a cake walk because the Rangers are a brand new team.
Good point. TG got robbed and I am not familiar with Monarchs.
Everyone went in assuming CT Rangers were the class of the field. They ended up being the weakest team in parity. Nobody could've predicted that.
THEY DID HAVE A CAKE WALK!!!!
Top Gun got jobbed, no doubt, but maybe a blessing in disguise. Ask the River Hawks how it felt to play a whole season and only win a couple games. Not the best thing for a kid's confidence.
Both TG and IHC2's opponents totaled 8-8 records. IHC had CJR on its schedule, TG had ICHT. Both 0-4 teams. TG Dad is splitting hairs here. Two goals made the difference, where TG lost it's bid was in their 2 goal loss to NS Shamrocks.
TG beat Islander/Riverhawks 10-4 dope!!
They weren't even the class last year.
BSB went 2-0-1 against them late and knocked them out of semis.
Shamrocks beat them in quarters.
Now the WHOLE team is going Elite?
If you look at the MHR, you will see that they played the last place EHF elite 06 NE Junior Falcones elite during the season and lost 8-5. They had some very good individual talent, but didn't pass well enough to beat good teams when it counted. I suppose you're going to say they left their better players home for that game as well. They might obviously improve if they are going to play an elite schedule since that would attract better players. Regardless, traveling 3-4 hours each way to play a youth hockey game is absurd.
