Little Caesars were dreadful, Missasaugua dodged a bullet against AV and AV split with Mission (first game was close, second game not even). So yes AV is in those 6.

Let me see if I got this

Wizard reply- Mission did not try in game 2 it was consolation game!

Assabet reply- Pittsburgh and CT stink and everybody else blew you out

Seems correct. Because Assabet gets better if Wizards lose and vice versa. Right? (only in the minds of parents trying to justify a decision)

Fact is that neither Assabet or Wizards (or Eagles or Breakers) were competitive with the top U14 teams this past weekend, and this should tell all parents that something is wrong. Wherever your daughter plays this year or played last year.

Wizards/Assabet rivalry and comparisons accomplish nothing. Seriously. That probably won't be the State final game, and it certainly won't be the Nattys final game.

This is spot on. The problem is simple in Massachusetts, the girls game is getting just like the boys. There are way too many teams. Just like the boys, the horse has left the barn and it will never be the same. It's all about the $$.

as far as i remember a MA U14 team won Nattys last year?

The clearest, most recent fact available is that all MA U14 teams looked terrible last weekend, compared to the competition. If you don't care about that, fine. I guess everyone will still come to watch Assabet play and therefore it's all good. Enjoy!

I missed the memo that said Assabet was downgraded from can't compete to terrible.

BTW is it not a fact when you offer an opinion that everybody is terrible, hope your kid was in fact not terrible yesterday, even though according to your opinion her team is.

Eagle Breaker game loser will go winless,

Assabet could go 1-2 same for Wiz

Assabet destroyed Ottawa 67's today

Breakers beat Eagles so guess who goes winless?

They already had the best 03 D player in house, they stole the best 03 forward and now they have the best 04 forward and a top 2 04 D coming up.

I would argue they had kids leave that were better than the Wizards forwards they brought in.

Not going to be enough pucks and everybody will be gunning for them!

Best 03 D, no question
Best 03 forward stolen, yes from BSB
Best 04 forward, yes
top 04 D - yes, if she can stay out of the box
on paper, they are great. But will the coach wear out the top players like he did last year?

kids that left better than ones that came - other than the exception above, yes.

Said the dad of that defenseman. Gotta love AV parents! Brags about own daughter while slighting team and coach.

2 of the 3 Wizards forwards that went to AVP did just fine at NAHA. You are kidding yourself if you think that those that left were/are better.

Find a good coach and a team that they like. Focus on skating, skating, skating, and then skills. Most of the coaches out there don’t know what they are doing and didn’t play at an elite level when they were younger and won’t be able to do anything to help you daughter and will most likely even negativity affect their development. You have to do your research on the individual coaches and teams not necessarily the programs as a whole. DON’T ASSUME A GOOD PROGRAM WILL HAVE A GOOD COACH/TEAM AT EVERY LEVEL BECAUSE THEY WONT. Hopefully you can find something close to your home for logistics purposes.

My advice is to only have your daughter play with boys if they can play at an elite boys level. Having her play for a low level boys team will not help them because the skill level and coaching will not be good and they will most likely be physically outmatched. If they are good enough (which will only be the case at they are either really big or elite skaters with solid skills) and driven to do so, have them play for an elite boys team and also a top girls team but prioritize the girls team because that will be where they foster their lifelong friendships and have the best experiences which is what they will remember later in life. That is a LOT of hockey for a young player and their family so only go this route if they love the game and you are a little crazy (in a good way) because if not you will just burn them out and they might be good when younger but will eventually burn out and get passed by other players who maintain their drive and peak later.
