Re: Teams looking for alternates?

The Q has had multiple levels for years.

Re: Teams looking for alternates?

Q has 4 or 5 levels don't they?

E9/BHL organizations actually play in the Valley. My sons town team rolled a Wizards team recently.

Every now and then you'll see a Wizards, Assabet or Boch team scuffling around in the Valley.

Don't get me wrong, the talent level at the highest level of the Valley is = to the E9 or BHL.

I just find it ironic that some parents chase the club team dream and end up playing in the same league their town team plays in.

They must be waiting till the hitting starts.

Yea, the teams "scuffling" around the Valley are the reams that were kicked out of BHL or couldn't make it in during parity and were relegated to a lower league.

These are the worst of the worst, and not surprising that the talent is equivalent to Town C hockey

Bad comparison, especially saying that your team beat the Wizards. I could go grab ten kids from public skating that could beat Boch and Wizards

Re: Teams looking for alternates?

This is classic. Congrats your son “rolled” the Wizards mite team in a cross ice game. No other Wizards team plays in VL, and they always do that that because they require their Mite teams to do cross ice. Look in th mirror bud.. let the 7 and 8 year old kids have some fun.

Re: Teams looking for alternates?

Whether it's Mites, girls, squirt.... it doesn't matter. If you are paying $3k+ for club hockey and you have to log onto the Valley league website to find your game times, you have been had.

Yea, you have the leather bag and track suit, but you have been clowned.

Club hockey isn't about the bag and the track suit. It isn't even about the games. It's about better, more, and more consistent ice times, which leads to more development. It's about other kids and families that take it seriously. Doesn't matter as much at the Mite level (my kid did Club one year and Select the other) but by Squirts, you don't want to have kids that only show up when they don't have Wednesday night soccer practice or a conflicting play date on the weekends.

It's about not having the Club kids show up whenever they feel like it for extra ice, at the expense of the kids that are actually on the team.

It's also about hopefully having more qualified coaches and less politics. That will vary from org to org on both sides, but generally you get what you pay for when it comes to coaching.

I'll be the first to agree that there are good town programs out there. Not my town. Bunch of buffoons that went to HS with the YH Director.

The alternative is paying $3k to have the organization enter you into a league that is above your competition level. Is that a better option? One of the strengths of the BHL is their ability to find a division for every team in which they can find competitive games. Even if it means sticking a team in the VHL. The Fed has moved in the same direction over the past few years with EMHL and Silver divisions, so it can't be that bad of a model.

And EHF Elite fanboys, don't tell me you wouldn't love the EHF to send a low-end team or two down to the black division when the situation merits it. The owners in that league don't have the balls to do that. You should give credit where credit is due to the E9/BHL, the only league in New England built truly on parity (well, almost).

Re: Teams looking for alternates?

The only league in Mass that does true parity is the NEGHL,

Re: Teams looking for alternates?

Wrong again.. those teams are not “sold” as a club level team. It’s offered as an ADM Development cross ice program. That’s why they don’t play in thr E9 at that age. No one has track suits or bags..

BN. Don't be a fool. Many other wizards teams play VHL. Look at PW division. The girls team plays AAA level and compete very well. That's their 1 team. Their 2 team also playing AA, A pewee level u chump know it all. STFU.

Nitwit - you do realize that if an E9 team is in the BHL or VHL it is the lowest level team at that particular age group? Top team plays in E9, Select and lower in BHL.

But good job, keep "rolling".
