Re: Minnesota Elite

Just saying
EHF is not that good. It gets proven all the time. Wait till Quebec when our top teams are playing in the secondary division and get waxed.

It does not matter what team or what league your kid is playing in. If he is one of the better players at 14 they will find him. The EHF teams are diluted because of the number of teams in a small geographic area. Take the total number of EHF teams and reduce it to 3 or 4 and our MA teams would be better than just about every team in the country.

At the 05 division the #1 ranked team the Chicago Mission picked up 6 or 7 kids including a stud goalie this past off season and have not lost a game yet and have beaten every top Canadian team. They got a bunch of kids from CYA, LC and even one from FL Alliance. If the EHF would get rid of the owner protection rule of not allowing serious player movement between teams that would be a start.

It is all about the owners making as much money as they can. They do not care about having a bomb squad representing the EHF nationally.

Just my two cents...

95 percent of the kids are better off with parity among EHF teams and no super teams. This gives them good competitive games within a reasonable driving distance. The player movement restrictions are intended to maintain parity. The price/trade off is not being as competitive in the national scene. I think that's a small price to pay. Those Chicago teams log some serious mileage to find competition, Florida even worse. We don't have it that bad.
You probably don't realize how right you are. 95% ARE better off not being on "super teams."

That's where the other 5% belong.

Re: Minnesota Elite

I don’t remember ever seeing Minnesota teams listed on hockey rankings, but have see quite a few teams listed now. Are they following in our footsteps ?

MN and ND/SD teams have their own section in MyHockeyRankings(Minnkota) because they do not play by birth year, they play by grade and it's two years across the board. That makes it difficult to compare like teams. Again if you made composite 05/06 EHF Elite Teams and played against MN AA teams(their highest level) they would compete just fine. MN doesn't really do club teams, they basically are just town/muni programs for the most part.
