You are obviously new to youth hockey...select players playing on town teams is commonplace. There are no rules against it as long as they are USA Hockey rostered...and in this case, the Natick girls are.

Girl teams from town programs often can only field one team per age bracket...so you have wild swings in talent...as in Natick's case, they have girls who play select, BUT they also have girls who are new to hockey.

So, the trophy Natick won...it costs about $2.99. Go buy one for your bender if it's that much of an issue.

BTW, no one wanted the trophy except for the Natick parents who seething over winning it in the lobby. It was like a SNL sketch on typical Boston backbay landfill. Natick is a laughing stock and next year will be playing with yourselves. You singlehandedly dedtroyed a tournament whose organizers did a good job trying to make the brackets competitive.

The only reason MV doesn't have "select" players on their girl town teams is because MV is an ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA. Otherwise, I'm sure a few of their girls would be playing selects AND their town teams; and that's perfectly fine.

MV can be found in an ocean, not a sea. I mean you must know the Gorton's fisherman being from the North Shore. Oh, and MV is certainly no where near the middle of anything water based. Now take your ringers and go play in a B bracket next time and maybe you'll get some loving from your own townie webpage. Hahahaha

There is no rule in USA Hockey or Mass Hockey that female club players can't play on local girls teams or local co-ed teams. If a town is fine with players only being available for certain games or tournaments then so be it. The only rule that exists on the dual rostering of players is that a player may only be rostered on one National Bound team.

According to the Natick website, there is only 1 Girls 12 & Under team. where is a girl who plays club but also wants to play town with her friends supposed to play. Her options are that 12 and under team or on one of 4 Pee Wee co-ed teams.

What Natick did is perfectly kosher.

You are forgetting the Rules of Martha, which trump all other rules in terms of moral superiority. And logic.

This wouldn't happen with boys. Those players would immediately be pulled off the bench. Seen it happen. Heard the organizers of this USA hockey sanctioned event aren't pleased with with this blatant violation. Keep your Tier 1 Assabet and let Natick try w their own talent. Defending this behavior is sad.

Agree Martha for true C level brackets and it sure looks like it was by the looks of the Cranberry Tournament Website. The parents from Natick should be proud and espcially the parents of the "PEG's". It might be time to neuter the wolf.

BZZZZZZZ! Wrong answer! It happens ALL the time in boys' tournament hockey. AND it happens all the time in boys' playoff hockey. When the games become meaningful, suddenly it's a different team being fielded.

USA Hockey isn't going to pull players "off the bench." Not sure what parallel universe that happens in, but short of significantly overaged players creating a safety issue, USA Hockey isn't going to do much, if anything, even after-the-fact.

It has nothing to with where the players live however it does have everything to do at which level they play based upon their present playing ability.

With influences like you in their hockey development it will take a monumental intervention to keep them out of crackhouses of Dorchester before they are 18.

I'M assuming that martha is older than 18 but if she ends up and a crack house because of my influence in her development as a hockey mom..well im fine w that... as long as she stays away from the game of hockey. I have always had fun on this board but this is a no win situation.
