Did you just say Rochester Nighthawks? and you have only been out of the area for 25 years? Sounds more like 35 years.
The Nighthawks died with the birth of the Seacoast Spartans in the late 80's.
and yes, organizations come and go and are replaced by others or change their name. The hockey landscape in New England is nothing of what it was in the 80's and 90's. For Profit Leagues and Organizations run the show now.
and the phrase "town hockey" now holds a reputation similar to what "house league" did 20-30 years ago
Bud, pull out your old satin Metro jacket. Have your little guy rock it around your local rinks and anyone with a clue will be all over you. Remember the old Metro days, when only the select kids were actually selected to play selects ?
And be prepared to be greatly disappointed in what you see at the youth club levels now compared to your old days of yesteryear !
