Why would a coach be told otherwise? Is this a new rule that a coach cannot check on his player?
It’s a weird rule but the coach can’t step on the ice, even during an injury, without the permission or the refs. Supposedly done to stop faking injuries but really just a bad rule
It's not a new rule. In other news, Moms can't go on the ice to check on their benders without ref's permission either....
I am a coach and also an MD. I will go on the ice during any injury to my team or the other teams and their is not a thing the ref or league can do to stop me unless they want to get sued by the parent of the kid who will say that the league rule resulted in delay of care which caused more serious injury or death.
