Just reading the tea leaves here, no sources. But it seems to me- whoever is responsible for buying hockeytown and birthing the Boston Americans is trying his hardest to stick it to IHC. Buy the rink, take ice away from the IHC teams already there forcing them to move to Essex, birth this BHL club. (BTW, the real "Americans" are in Chicago.) And spend a fortune on marketing. Its all over the E9/BHL website. If you follow a local youth club on twitter or fb, The Americans are suddenly all over the feed showing up as sponsored posts... Now the billboard to boot?

The Gilmartin's (owners of the VJW, E9/BHL League, Valley League, etc) bought Hockeytown. They are also the owners of the new Boston Americans club.
Again, no official knowledge, but something tells me they are building that rink behind Walmart on Route 1N (opposite HockeyTown) and then will move all the Boston American teams there when its done...then sell the land which Hockeytown sits on.
The ice isn't even the worst in Saugus. How about Kasabuski? Other than that, totally agree, the place is a dump. They are doing the Islanders a favor by booting them.
