It is very apparent that there is one, maybe two folks who aren't happy with the program and are spreading rumors about them folding, not having ice, director is a jerk, blah blah blah....same rumor-mill for other programs. Lovell has 16 teams there, plus their Juniors teams. At least 2 additional teams being added next year. Like every year, there will be a rotation of kids between all the local programs. When all said and done, the rink sells a ton of ice, Lovell makes a ton of money and the kids improve way more than they would playing town hockey or for programs like the the Huskies, Caps or Saints, as all those ones have useless daddy coaches.

Focus less on wins and losses and more on quality instruction and ice time folks.

Talk about the Caps and we'll buy you out!:laughing:

“Useless daddy coaches”.... I love it! You are right on the money, sir! Consider it a gift, folks, when your kid plays on team where the coach doesn’t have his kid on the team! Oh I’m sure there’s plenty of coaches here who like to believe they aren’t biased toward their kid, but when you get a paid coach with no skin in the game other than to develop the team, you’ve hit the jackpot! FYI not all Lovell teams use “daddy-free” coaches...

Rich you better do some talking to families in your hockey network... I don’t know anyone in the 2006 birth year and up, our family included, who plans on going back to that organization. Definitely not worth the $3600 price tag to play in the BHL (I don’t think they have any E9 reams at any age level). 2007 team roster is pretty packed... that being said I’m sure they’ll cut a few and take a few exceptional players. 2007 coach is a good guy. That being said, at the upper age groups the Lovell’s have shown themselves to frankly give crap... how would you like to spend $3600 and have your son play in a half rostered team, have a coach that also coaches five other teams, go to games and have a bunch of random players from other Lovell teams show up that no one on the team knows, and then have coaching no shows so parents have to jump on the bench to avoid a forfeit, have to beg to be able to play in a tournament (any tournament, still nothing booked yet) have fellow parents email and call the Lovell’s with no reply. The whole situation sucks. Hopefully Lovell’s will wake up and get their heads out of the Boston Advantage teams to give one ounce of attention to the multitude of other teams they have created but could obviously care about... that will change when they witness the March exodus. For years was told how fantastic the Lovell organization is. Highly disappointing. My advice is look elsewhere. But don’t take it from me... do some digging around before you invest in this organization!

I agree with a lot of this. The brothers are spread so thin that very few families are happy at this stage. Don't forget that they also run the NE Generals, Middlesex Icemen and EC Leafs in addition to the already mentioned BA, Knights and Giants. Can you name one other organization that successfully runs three separate and distinct programs, let alone six? In five different rinks (Hingham, Raynham, East Boston, Attleboro, Hopedale)?

Oh I forgot about the Hockey School, Tropics, Baked Beans and Futures Tournaments.

Even much smaller hockey organizations have full time GMs, accountants, schedulers, etc. Who are the GMs of these teams that you can contact for info? Anyone whose name doesn't start with an L and end in an ovell?

Hey, I give them credit. They have a fiercely loyal following. If you are a "Friend of Lovell" your kid is treated well and opportunities abound. Everyone else - well if you go in not believing a word of what you're told, they'll probably meet or exceed your expectations.

We cycled through for six months and got out, and are much happier for it.

Thank you all for your info. Considering the 2007 and 2010 future, I'm between New England knights and terrier program. Going to watch teams play in next few weeks. And try to talk to coaches. 2007 looking to see a good goalie and good play, good environment for the 2010. Again thank you all and best of luck for all.

Your kid didn’t cycle through for six months. He was horrible. Playing way over his head. We know who you are idiot. You don’t like them because your kid was not Goodnuf to play here. You were used to coaching your kid so you can throw him out there all the time. The second you brought him to an organization with an independent coach that held him accountable for all his mistakes that bothered you. Just be honest with yourself.

Program is working the kinks out. Director in over his head so will have a lot more support next year. No financial troubles at the rink at all. That is all rumor. They also have an ironclad long-term lease with a ton of ice.

My kid doesn't play there but I personally know a handful of 06 kids that play there and are coming back. Don't lay it on too thick....it appears spiteful when you do

Its a **** show over there...Not fair to kids or parents to put up with that kind of treatment...C'mon Joe your better than that...a lot of kids/parents lost/wasted a full year of hockey because of all the drama and mismanagement...pretty sad to say the least...:disappointed: :disappointed: :disappointed: :disappointed:

He is the stereotypical daddy coach. His kids are on the wrong level teams and everyone knows it. That is all the parents on the teams talk about. One family impacting 3 teams....now that's a record.

You are forgetting or unaware of the two prior seasons at Knights ! Get your facts straight before you make sarcastic remarks !

But, since you are not aware and now you are maybe you will see the reasons for the initial need of the NESV and a new program there...it was so his kid would have a place to play !!

Kind of confused by this. Which team are you talking about? Elite or select? And if you aren’t returning because of one kid, and I mean the entire team, that kid must have been seriously impactful to be solely responsible for a -47 goal differential. If you are blaming one kid or family for an entire team stinking maybe you need to look in a mirror! Many teams/ families over there having a lot of success, seems like you are an aberration. Why is that? And I wonder where you are going? You are lucky if you have this all sorted out before tryouts for ehf teams. Unless, hmm, maybe you have no plan.

They did pretty well and had a good year. 06/05/04/03 were all shaky. 05s were terrible. Not sure how they will fix that. The 04s are looking to restructure, I think. They have a new, non-parent coach. Anybody know if those kids are staying? U14 is such a weird year.

Yes 2004 playing full season U14. Awesome non daddy coach with serious hockey cred. Already had tryouts. Mostly 8th graders with 9th graders committed to team, not JV high school hockey.
