Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Does this mean that the Top 40 will some how become the Top 80. In-house money!

Who needs Bitcoin when I have stock in Blue Chip's:joy:

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

wow I never thought the caps could make the Saints look so good. 1000 players who the hell would want to be part of something where you are just a number on the 3,4,5 team and pay 3000 to do it.
btw if anyone from the Friars or North Stars need the Saints tryout information here it is.

Nobody can make the Saints look good not even the Caps. More Saints coaches will leave, 2 have already and more to follow.Saints have zero clue how to run a program. It's not 1980 something....they were so cocky and sat idle while everyone passed them.

Saints can't even post coaches because they don't have any!

Depends on if tuition next year goes up significantly for the Friars and North Stars. I suspect it won't because I think a lot of parents would just go back to town instead of paying the extra 1000 for town level hockey. This deal doesn't make sense unless the caps somehow control ice in Cranston, if they can control most of the ice in Cranston they can push the Saints out potentially causing a problem for the Saints. They're already spread out between 3 different rinks and there is only so much ice in RI so losing Cranston could be a big problem. The Saints could be in a bind for next season and it should be interesting to see what moves they can make.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

I would not hold my breath for budget pricing?

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

The main goal is to get Cap teams competitive. Goal is to have at least half of the elite teams with a 500 or better record.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Now maybe Giants have a shot at being good!!!!

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Giants are in trouble also merging with the Leafs to play out of hopedale rink

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

They are definitely doing the giants a huge favor. I’d like to meet the brain trust from the friars. LOL

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Now can only one team out of three (South, North, East) make each level of Tier 1 or are they considered separate programs for parity rules? Since there are new rules that only one team from a program that can enter the black parity tournament how do they select which team is allowed to compete. What if one of the teams has finished 1st or 2nd in the black division during regular season and get automatic black bid, can the other teams play in black parity or are the other teams competing for white without the chance of competing for black????? A lot of questions to answer before they start cashing the down payment checks.

Elite members can have 3 teams in Tier 1. If you have two teams that can play in black the idea is you need to make your best team. No more mediocre black teams with 6 players at the level. You need to combine those rosters to make your best team.

This move also solves the Midget problem of having 3 U14 teams currently etc....now for next year you integrate them into one Midget team that's much more competitive. It gives a kid a path from learn to skate through U18 without having to leave the org. Ice at 5 rinks helps as well( 2 of them are owned outright). Look what the Saints have to deal with.

You know Lovell Is worried about stability of NESV, he's buying up all the ice he can in Hopedale.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

The providence hockey club and MS are the owners.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Good luck to you RI parents! Now if you are unhappy with your kids team and want to change you can eliminate these three teams from your new team list. Because they are all under one umbrella they will all know you are looking and your only other "real" option in the state of RI is the Saints! It's amazing what these youth sports teams are doing...

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

We need Senator Elizabeth Warren to look into this !!!! Oh hold it, wrong state.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Let’s see, now 1000 youth players paying tuition to MS and the Caps. Control of ice time at 5 RI rinks..... Any RI parent that is a part of this deserves what they get. They are giving every player (and parent) a bar code which will be on each players bag and helmet, and parents key tag. Must keep track of everyone some how to charge everything. Real friendly environment... Right? Bar codes on helmets? What happened to names? Who thought they couldn’ Destroy hockey anymore... you’re wrong. Say bye bye to state league, town leagues, AA, & A leagues. Say hello to Providence hockey club house league. One big house league. Enjoy the $port.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

THANKS PROVIDENCE HOCKEY CLUB !!! , Love Tim Lovell

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

The main goal is to make money and crush the competition. This deal does both. The Caps have already taken some of the Saints coaches and I'm hearing there are Saints players skating with Cap teams. Couple that with the poor numbers at the Saints ID skates and I would say that the Saints are in dire straits at the moment. Remains to be seen what happens but it's not looking good for them

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

3 seperate organizations (think Islanders/IHC) under one umbrella with control of the ice at 5 rinks. Your kid can play elite through C hockey depending on where they fall in skill level. And remember your elite kid may very well be playing men’s league with that C level kid in 15 years. It’s about money for sure but let’s hope it also helps to push the higher level kids up to the next level instead of staying put. RI hockey needs to develop its players. No one is really doing that in RI right now.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

RI Hockey was already in trouble before this happened. Now its all under one name and the PHC can move players around to make their teams more competitive. They will lose and gain so numbers will stay the same. Tuition will go up for some teams as they already said it in a subtle way on their FAQ they posted on the websites. For those saying this helps the Saints are wrong. They are a Joke and they will have one team in the E9 next year (07) group and the rest BHL. For the prices people are going to pay and the competition level people are better of in Warwick or the Hitmen. The PHL and EJEPL arent FED Elite but are comparable options to Tier 1 and definitely better than EMHL at a fraction of the cost. Even SRI becomes a better choice for those southern kids because of the EJEPL. Either way the only thing changing is some uniforms and moree money for MS

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Well said ^^^😉

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

fo sho!

what even worse for RI hockey is that all the parents moan and groan about this and about that but never do anything except keep paying out because to a rhode islander going to foxboro or bridgewater requires an overnight bag and there is the problem.

Now with one uber 'club' team that really is a cash grab and promises to be a larger dumpsstah fire than it currently is and a struggling saints & hitmen programs trying to stay afloat in the smallest state with smallest pool in NE, the RI kids who really can play would be better off over the border and making those SE mass teams better. Though agree if they are the ones with moms who look like bulldogs with cowbells and airhorns you can please stay in woonsocket or cranston

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

You my friend, do not have a clue. State league/Ejephl is one step past learn to skate.

Re: The Providence Hockey Club

Time for the Saints to set in.

Thanks for your input that you dont know anything about. Unless your on the top "elite" Team. The rest is all the same. someone on here had the "rankings" another joke but if you want to use it. The only thing separating the next 5 divisions is what 4 points? wouldn't call that above learn to skate unless your saying the Black division is above mite house league. So dont let facts get in your way so you can pump your chest about playing in the silver division.
