all goalies have their 'moments'. its easy to say a goalie must go, but replaced with??? excluding the other 7 goalies currently playing and i'll even give you a straight up trade --- who? Lundqvist, Quick (lost 4 straight). that means you have to admit he is a top 10 goalie. so we are going to toss a top 10 goalie? i don't disagree he might not be it, but give solutions.
The bigger issue is the refereeing. Doesn't matter that they were outplayed, they only record how many go in the net.
It was bad in Game 1, too - bad enough that it could have decided that game, too. Remember the ticky-tack cross-check by Pastrnak that negated a Bruins goal when it was still close? The DeBrusk "interference" call for a stick tap that resulted in the PP when the Lightning scored their second goal? And play should have been stopped when Rask lost his skate blade. It's different when a player loses one, they are down a man temporarily, no different than a broken stick. When your goalie can't push he can't defend the goal, and no one can take his place while he goes to the bench.
Getting to be like the NBA where the league is directing the officials on who to give the edge to. Which would be a shame.

Krug slash in the 1st period results in a ppg. Slash on Marchand in the third, right off the faceoff following the goal to narrow the lead to 3-2, is not called. Inconsistent enforcement of the rules, could have had an impact on the outcome.
Torey Krug is terrible I'm still scratching my head about that guy having such a long run in the NHL.
I know last week there was some stat that mentioned that Krug was on the ice for 11 of the last 14 goals against the B's. So you have a $5mm a year power play specialist and 1) it's not like the refs call many penalties in the playoffs and 2) it's not like the B's are getting many calls at that and you keep rolling this little guy over the boards? And for some reason no one mentions a thing. And now they're flat-out running him. . . .Never thought I'd say - Brandon Carlo we need you!
Something tells me the B's are going to have to take a serious look at all of those you mentioned to sign some of the good young players' next contracts.
At least Grzelcyk plays a little defense (his numbers are far better than Krug's - for the season Grzelcyk +22, Krug -0-), he can also man the power play and he can also make the 5-6 good passes a night Krug makes. Krug at $5.5 million or Grzelcyk at $850K? Just give Krug's money to McAvoy now.
46 Krejci is just plays too slow for today's game. All hands and you can hardly make room to get a shot off. DeBrusk will need some of that $.
