Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

Just so you know. My son is a rifles player and has had two concussions, a knee injury, and a back injury from playing hockey. We’ve also had a kid break his collar bone in a tournament. So it does happen. It’s a contact sport. As the kids get older the more contact there is. And your team was real “ classy” by flipping the bird as they were leaving the ice.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

You are an effing idiot. so your saying because your son has had injuries, that justifies what happened saturday? Seriously? Sniff more of that springfield paint. You must have been the blonde keeping stats or the mom shaking the cowbell.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

The worst thing that happened was the VJW players cross check to the Rifles kid after the whistle blew. #15 was talking to the ref and the kid hit him in the back of the neck so hard they both went down. That is intent to injure.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

That was a **** move, and he should be disciplined for that cross check as that could have injured the kid,
but the 8 stride bodycheck was a terrible thing to watch.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

Can we move on yet? Im sure the kids have

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

No I am not. It doesn’t matter who my kid is on the team. I am just saying that he’s been hurt playing. I’ve had to drive him straight to the ER for being slufooted which is illegal and the kid should have gotten kicked out of the league but I didn’t persue anything. I did have to pay for 6 weeks of physical therapy for his knee injury that he sustained. I am just saying hockey injuries happen. My brothers friend got his wrist skated over while at a tournament when hey wer kids and another kid broke his collar bone three hours away from home. And just for the record we clapped when the player got off the ice

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

But none of that nonsense that went on Saturday needed to happen. As long as kids like #63 can’t control themselves this will keep happening to your team. The kid who did the cross check from VJW was reacting to an over reaction from #63 who didn’t like the kid swatting him in the thigh. That stuff happens all game, if he’s going to spaz out every time you are in for an eventful season. And #9 taking a run at that kid wasn’t needed, 5-0 score with his team coasting to an easy win. Maybe their coach might want to instill a little sportsmanship into those kids.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

This is why I am glad my kid is EHF ELITE. We dont have to deal with this rif raf and dirty play.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

The mommy lost me at "There's a reason hitting isn't allowed at this age; medical facts point out the greater risk long term effects of head injuries at a younger age"

You realize it was all a money grab by USA Hockey to keep revenue coming in through peewee years, right? The 'medical facts' were presented by USA Hockey as the reason but ask one or 5,000 medical experts if it's a great idea to delay checking until the age when the absolute discrepancy in size is at it's greatest and 100% of them will tell you it's a stupid & dangerous idea.

And here we are, all for the love of money and a little boost for the kids in Ann Arbor.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

After Rifles tryouts next March.
We can all say....Sorry your Grandma got cut! 不不不不不

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

This is my field. Obviously not yours.

You are incorrect. In every way. I could spend time outlining for you how the rotational forces are far more significant in the cause of a concussion and how a child has a disproportionately sized melon as compared to the rest of his/her body and how the neck muscles cannot respond to the rotational force as well as when they are older or even present the data about how a child's neurons respond to head injury but what would be the point? You already have your opinion and some nonsensical group of 5,000 medical professionals. Seriously. Step aside. Your opinion is not an equivalent to fact or medical science. Ass.

Yes, for USA Hockey it was about the money but many studies are now supporting the move. In fact, most studies I've read are supporting moving contact to even later years (16-18) because it will allow the muscles that support the head to develop more and, in turn, limit the forces on a players brain. So although I disagree with USA Hockey, the current science is suggesting they were correct, even if it is for the wrong reasons (and my eyes tell me differently).

I wasn't at this game and I can't be bothered to watch it on LiveBarn but it sounds like a case of the ref's not taking control either because of inexperience or in typical tournament fashion, they are trying to keep the games running on time. If you feel that strongly about it, simply go to Mass Hockey, give them the time, date, rink info and they will watch the LiveBarn feed and take appropriate action with all involved.

As for the cowbell, please leave it in your doublewide, they don't belong at games.

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

Just watched. Rifles definitely instigators. Terrible hockey from both sides. What a mess

Re: 07 Rifles moms and grandmother classless caught on Livebarn

OK enough of this post...we've beat this story to death... it was obviously a bad moment for all involved...let it go and get ready for the season...we all get it now...now go get your effin shine box!!!   :muscle: :muscle: :muscle:

None of what is on that video compares in anyway to what used to go down daily at the BIA. Every time we played the Bandits it was out of control.

Every team needs a #63..you may hate him now, but in a few years, you want him on your line, you need him on your line....see what I did there.

your a complete tool box.....broh the 70's and 80's are gone, goon's are gone now, the game has changed its all skill and speed and the big thugs that use to protect the star players are dinosaurs. No need for any kid to do that!

Oh I know, just trying to get the young parents fired up. It was a bad play and we should analyze it more, maybe make a sign, protest, be heard...isnt that what everyone is doing these days.
