craziest group of parents on the board

Actually, I think the Gunt finishes higher than expected. Added a couple VJW kids turned over a few others. Will be better than the usual cellar dwellers.

Seems like MFF is in its own class. BJE and MMF will be up there. Then theres probably 6-7 teams that made some changes that could finish anywhere from 3 to 10.
You all are giving poundtown to much credit! They will be the laughing stock this season ,JUST WAIT !!! do they even have a full team this yr ,one player can not make a whole team !!!!
Clearly a delusional SSK parent on the pipe early today. They have gone backwards in the off season and lost their best player (who wasn't even that great). Pretty sure the SSK will be competing for a 5/6 spot this year. Please stop the nonsense.
Aren't the Gulls, Royals, Colonials, Express and other NYC area teams in their area to draw from? Plus, I find it hard to see parents being psyched to drive 2+ hours just for a league game or two in the EHF.
Colonials are a haul from Fairfield County down into NJ. Same with the Gulls and Royals. You could be talking 90 minutes or more just to practice getting around NYC traffic. The number of people living in Fairfield co alone is about 1 million, and MFF has the market on that. Compare that with Boston having a dozen or more "elite" teams drawing from a pop of 4 million and it's easy to see why MFF is strong.
So, based on your numbers argument, we should only have 4 "elite" teams in our area then. Unfortunately, no one would agree to that consolidation, despite the likely improved results that would come along with it.
They play the best league schedule in the Tri-State area (quality of competition) which is why they have a big radius, much bigger than just Fairfield County. 25-30% of the 08 MFF team comes from NY which includes players from Westchester County, NYC, and Albany. Might be missing 1-2 but you get the point.

Point that you guys are missing, is the big draw for mff 08 is to play for marty st louis. Thats why parents are jumping through hoops to get their kids over there.

Understood but this is mostly true at every level.
MFF has added 4 new kids, the top kid from jr huskies, an 08 who played up on a team ranked in top 25 in 07 and 2 kids from Russia, no one is touching them, only team that has a shot is gulls because they also loaded up adding 2 kids from PA and 1 from florida and top kid from royals. Youth hockey is gone, i guess all these kids are going to the show to justify traveling from PA to LI for 3 weekly practices lol
Kids are 10 years old. Nothing normal about driving 5 hours round trip for practice a few times per week. Not normal at any age.
And who are you to say what is normal and what is not !!?? I mean, I’m not sure if I would do it BUT if the kid doesn’t mind , is doing good in school ,the kid loves the team and the parents don’t mind the drive ,why does it matter !
Wow I can’t believe all you caring and concerned loving people worried about how many times a kid moves or how far they travel . So nice of you to notice too and take time out of your day to make sure they are safe and still playing hockey .... BLAHAHAHAHAHAHA
How does that conversation go, “ Hey family we’re all moving to a new state so our 9 yr old can play hockey. We’ll get new jobs and make new friends. It’ll be great! 🤷♂️

This is a hockey forum so the assumption is its only a hockey related decision. In some cases that may be true but not in all cases. Its not a one size fits all answer to these decisions. Assuming more variables at play than just hockey.
How is BJE first ?????
Did anyone see them play at CCM tournament ? Or how about their mad skills at the Brick ????? No way are the before MFF , and I’ll put money on it they won’t be #2 either !

Just want to make sure we are all on the same page about BJE:
1. BJE finished #2 in the country last year (MHR rankings, 2nd to MFF)
2. Won the 2008 EHF Elite Championship
3. Lost 1 strong player in off-season, but picked up 2 strong players as well
4. Have solid coaching
Without a doubt MFF is the team to beat, however BJE is right there.

1.BJE finished #2 in the country LAST YEAR
2.won the 2008 EHF championship LAST YEAR
3 Lost 1 one key player LAST YEAR ...... while every other player in the EHF Is getting better and gaps are becoming smaller with LESS
SUPERSTARS !
4.BJE is not the only team with strong coaching !!!!!!!!!!
Wake up and smell the coffee
Clearly a BJE parent , living in their Boston college lala land
Not a Breakers dad but will be called one, which is fine. why are people so down on BSB? Did they lose a lot? Haven't been a great team, but they weren't awful last year and played a lot of teams tough.

Could be because the program up and down the line is weak, rivaling the bandits and TA Seahawks as bottom dwellers?
Again, we'll see how the top of the E9 does this weekend. The whole schedule for the weekend is out and I see Boston Adv gets a crack at the predicted top dog in the EHF.
Best thing going for the eagles that played in the brick is they don’t have to play with the 2 Canadians who didn’t pass the puck at ALL and the SSK defenseman who couldn’t make a pass to his own teammates. A lot of goals scored on BJB’s while he was on the ice. SSK’s goalies will be busy this year!!
So after the breakout weekend who were the winners and who were the losers? Did the kings live up to the high expectations ? Is MMF and BJE in a class by themselves? How were the E9 teams BA? And the rest of the field?
