You're over complicating it, you don't need Mr. Skills Coach or fancy obstacles out on the ice. Just get out there and have some fun with your kid. Throw the kid some passes and be a dad, chirp the kid when they miss the net and give em positive feedback when they do something good.

Every driveway, tennis court, outdoor rink, basement or pond is an empty canvas for a kid and an opportunity for them to connect with a game they love and get better.


Maybe some parents only have the means to play hockey and there's nothing left for 'ELITE' training with 'so and so' or 'camp whatsitsname', nothing wrong making the most out of what you got.


What's wrong with working the snackbar at 16? Maybe that kid is earning a few bucks, learning about responsibility, and maybe they're a rinkrat and that job gets them 15 minutes or 30 minutes a day to jump on the ice and work on their game.

The original post was a legitamate question of someone looking for a skills program. How a parent chooses to spend his money, or how a child chooses to practice is their own business. People who have been around hockey for a while can actually provide worthwhile information to others who might be new to the game.

Boston being Boston and the inability to make it from the south shore to the north shore and visa-versa it is very important to state whether it's north shore, south shore, metro west. . . . For the South Shore, despite the few angry old dads who have some ax to grind (sorry your kid got cut) you can't go wrong with any Lovell Hockey / BA skills. Maybe one day, one session was bad but if your kid regularly attends their skills you will see a jump in improvement. My 2 cents and my kid was never cut. Sorry haters.
