I wouldn't worry until your child discloses in a few years exactly how he made first line.
Don’t put too much stock in those certications. I’m a level 2 and I don’t know much. More importantly, most of the training involves ADM methods. The town and club organizations my kids play in seem to regularly ignore much of the ADM stuff and stick with old school methods. For instance, look at the lengths leagues go to in order to create alias mite teams that can play full ice games rather than USA hockey prescribed shorter ice games.
Don’t put much stock in spelling either, look at all the lengths teachers put into that but no one uses it either!!

It is mandatory for every coach on the ice, bench, or in a locker room. My concern isn't with hockey knowledge but rather safety. Safesport and CORI exists for a reason and as we have all seen over the years things do happen. I just don't understand why this isn't checked and enforced.
EHF Coaches have to have USA Hockey certification for squirts and above and all coaches and managers had to go through the background check. Mandatory.
You have to be a different kind of dumb to call out a guy who is volunteering to coach kids putting hours and hours of time in to make kids better players and people on a anonymous board if you have a question be a man and ask them. And no my kid does not play for the eagles and he did not get cut.
The question was about Certification. Why have any rules or requirements? Playing pro hockey or college hockey doesn’t make you exempt from the rules. The response wasn’t anti-BJE but it was posted here previously that the former coach who was forced out had certification issues as well. As for volunteering, the IHC coaches are definitely not volunteering. See the Nose.
Wow, what a loser you are dropping names.
If you people can’t read....all coaches must be certified in all areas and pass background checks....paid or not, you people are iots
