NAHL Northeast Generals

While we continually argue about whether it doesn’t matter where the kids play and what league is better and what is the ideal path to get beyond youth hockey did anyone take note that the Lovell’s have TEN D1 comitts this season from their NAHL team.

Say what you want about them but you can’t ignore the success they keep building on every year and the opportunities kids are getting through them. Hats off to them !!

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Joe coaches the team, but that's not a Lovell program.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Semantics.

But anyway. The latest D1 Comitt came from the NAHL showcase last weekend and is a former Lovell Knights kid who then went to Advatage for u16 and U18

Lovell has brought in lots of there own kids from their programs to the Gens !

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Most of the Gens are not from MA. Look at their rosters. Difficult to make it onto their roster.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Lovell brothers absolutely own part of the Gens. Roughly 25%. Don’t know where you get your information from folks. It was part of the deal when they came in.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Correct

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

Interesting...

If Lovell has (10) D1 commits on one team in the NAHL, how many D1 commits across the entire USPHL...?

AHAHAHHAHA you fuc*in morons dont quit do you?! Both of the above replies.

The Northeast Generals were privately owned and were granted a bid in the NAHL three years ago. The owner was the GM/Head Coach, and had the team at a nice 0-28 record. Lovell, who owns all of the ice at Attleboro (their home rink) bought into it, and JL became the head coach. Finished the year strong, and the following year (his first year as head coach), made the playoffs and was coach of the year.

Yes, 10 D1 commits this year, but as the last commenter noted -- the 10 commits from that one team that was resurrected from the dead under Lovell leadership, probably doesn't compare to the number of D1 commits that the 200+ USPHL junior teams have combined..... or does it?

I see Joe and Tim listed as part of the hockey staff, but not listed as part of the ownership.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

The Lovell’s have zero ownership in the Generals. The Generals are the NESV’s 2nd biggest tenant behind Lovell. The owners brought Joe in to Coach and he has done a fantastic job. Tim helps with scouting and getting kids college looks. The ownership learned from their mistakes early on and worked quickly to rectify. Not really a hard thing to follow if you read online or know the owners or the Lovell’s. They are all friends and are looking to bring good hockey to the area. Trust me they don’t care about the other leagues. Only about making the NAHL work in New England.

Generals own website shows 7 commits, including TL Jr. Can't say how many walked in with commits already.

Think the Jr. Bruins have 5 or 6? Not sure how many on other NCDC teams.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

The NAHL Generals would beat any USPHL team, as they should. Anyone who thinks different has been drinking too much USPHL kool aid

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

You obviously have not watched the Gens this year.

Re: NAHL Northeast Generals

A little Hit men Generals showdown would be sweet! Hit men by far the best team in the NCDC.
