Yes, high school tryouts begin after Thanksgiving & those tryouts usually have an impact on the U14 rosters. Despite parents pledging their allegiance to coaches, with the promise of "my player won't tryout for high school if he makes your team", there is always a sudden departure of players at this time. It's a problem if your kid either stayed back a year or is a fall/winter birthdate and doesn't have any options besides full season.
