Listen I get the fact that paid coaches aren’t really a reality in youth hockey but the balls on some of them. It just blows my mind the shlt they pull to get their kid ahead.

No daddy coaches at Greater Springfield Aces! All paid coaches! Hopefully that program works out and starts a trend!

Plenty of programs and teams have instructors who aren't coaches. Father's coaching will always be a thing.

Many programs just comp the kid if the dad is a qualified coach, so he's actually "getting paid" whatever the tuition was.

Your bender made the team if you like to drink in the parking lot, promote violence on the ice, and of course use profanity. Let's go Aces!

Like you said it's a reality. Without them youth hockey wouldn't be a thing. When I coached my daughter was the best player on the team and she probably got less ice than anybody else. If you need to win a 12 or 13 year old youth hockey game that bad then maybe there are some deeper issues that need to be looked at. At that point the win is for you and not the kids. That's a FACT boooooooooooooooy.

Coach your kid but don’t embarrass yourself by making it BLATANTLY obvious what the agenda is.

Dads who coach and daddy coaches are two very different things. There are dads who have a hockey background (beyond HS) and coached before they had kids. And then there are the daddy coaches. They coach because their little bender will cry without daddy and be a typical coach’s kid behavior problem. I’ve had 3 boys go thru the club bologna. I’ve seen both type of coaches.

Dad coaches are a part of every sport. Had a dope who never played a sport and was a stoner in high school coaching a kids baseball team. Had everybody in town fooled the he was a baseball guy.

We totally thought it would be a fun ride and our kid would progress much faster than he has... suppose if i was an owner or director or gave more money, my kid would see more ice time...too late to back out now, they own me at this point. guess thats my fault...dance with the devil and you're bound to get burnt.

tell junior to pay attention and work harder...that's how he'll get results
