Re: Reffing games

My son got his ref cert a couple of wks ago. Anyone know how to get assigned games? Do you contact town orgs/club orgs/leagues? All of the above?
Referee in chief for USA hockey and his assigners.

Re: Reffing games

He’s not the RIC for mass or USA hockey.

But if you want games ref crease is good way to go. Plenty of work.

Re: Reffing games

What region do you live? There are district assignors and independent assignors. The district guys will help you find the best solution for your son.

While a few teams have assignors specifically for their games, most leagues either have their own or contract out. Referee Crease is the largest and handles the majority of non VHLBHLE9 games. If your son wants to start out with a little less pressure, Valley League is a great starting point, info on signing up can be found on their website. As your son gets out there and starts doing some games, he will likely find assignors reaching out to him to join up.

It's a great way for kids to make some decent money but he is going to need develop a pretty thick skin.

Re: Reffing games

"Simply registering is not a guarantee of being assigned games. It is the responsibility of the official to contact the schedulers when they receive their certification and crest." Here's the list of Mass. Assignors. http://massofficials.com/mass-officiating-program-staff/assignors Good luck.
