Why would it bother you if someone thinks advantage is a great program ? There are many different programs that get discussed on here. If anything I see the eagles get mentioned over and over again here. I have no issue with the eagles at all, I know good people on this teams but it's not the only team in MA and not everyone lives near there.

It's interesting too that the all mighty Eagles team lost to West end Ontario 4-3 then BA beat West End 6-3

But sure mite level doesn't mean anything especially when it's an E9 team that wins.

Eagles weren’t that great last year in fed, but this year they’re becoming a real force with all the new additions. And they beat ihc and west end fair and square in earlier stage of this tournament. Mark my words, they’ll win Fed this year. But neither them nor ihc are better than BA.
I know, people say it’s mite hockey and so it doesn’t count, but if you’re poorly coached player who can’t skate or make good decisions with and without the puck at mite, I don’t think being on a team which doesn’t develop players helps. And most teams don’t develop players, sadly. Eagles only got better because they got stronger players from outside, and ihc did not show progress this tournament despite having two new good players on the roster.

Eagles did beat IHC in this tournament but the IHC beat the eagles 7-3 earlier in October. Eagles also had an alternate who was apparently really good. That's the tricky thing about having alternates...hard to know how the team would do without those extra people. Both IHC and Eagles are very good, no doubt...but it seems odd and shady to bring alternates to games and tourneys when they kids are 8. Top Gun did the same. What does that teach the kids as well? Oh, we have to bring in people who aren't even on our team to help us win unfairly?

Kudos to the BA for playing with their regular season team and winning it all in the 2014 division. It sounds like quite a few EHF teams bolstered their lineups. But to be fair, are we sure that Quebec Brick, V-Hockey and others are actually regular season teams? Tough argument, but once again, congrats to the Advantage!

I've definitely heard complaints on here and in other places of teams brining in kids not on rosters. It doesn't seem right. Why coaches feel the need to do this with teams of 8 year olds is crazy. Crazy parents and coaches.

To be fair, ihc had one alternate and he’s played a few fed games too, so looks like he is a legit alternate. Unlike Top Gun and Eagles, it looks like they brought players in for this tournament specifically. Did not help TG at all. They were top 3 in fed last year, but this season wheels have fallen off.

IHC had a player who was sick but he still played. It's very possible they had a bad weekend. They are a good team.

How long until the best BA players leave and go to the Eagles or Terriers to play in the Fed? 1/2/3 years?

OOh the fed elite. They all can't wait to play in the fed elite. Joke. Look at the breakers and bandits 2014 fed elite. Terriers have lost 8 games. Top gun has lost half their games. The fed elite is dominated by 2 or 3 teams.

I don't think anyone is saying kids are mainly developed by a coach they had when they were 8. But you're kidding yourself if you think hockey development doesn't get real until puberty. A coach can certainly spot talent in a kid when they're 7 or 8 and start grooming them.

Ask any NHL player or D1 player when they started playing hockey. The answer won't be when they were 13 or 14. There's no way any development that happens before age 14 is moot. Keep telling yourselves whatever it takes to feel better though.

Doesn't seem like exposure is giving much attention to advantage at all for winning. They're showing the same clips of losing teams it seems. What's up with that?

2011 islanders lost to a Dallas team in a shootout in the semis . Dallas team won , that was the top division.
Also , you people are hilarious your arguing about 7 year olds, there’s a reason all the best players are in the ehf, the advantage are a good team (2011) and I’m sure a awesome program, but the fact people on here actually try to argue that e9 is better than the ehf is a riot.

I would agree that EHF overall has stronger teams than the E9. No one said they didn't, but there are some bad teams and average players in the EHF also. The point is that BA/Lovell has some teams that are better than some of the teams in the EHF.

To say all of the best players play in the EHF is quite a statement. Just another butthurt boomer dad and another example of an EHF parent getting all nervous that the EHF isn't that great. It's the teams people not the leagues

Lovell is kind of in a league of their own. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years.
