NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

Word on the streets is that they oversold the Squirt Div. by 20 + teams. Those who registered still haven’t heard if they made the cut. Tourney is 8 weeks away. For those that have gone is it really worth it? Especially for non- elite teams?

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

My sons team went last year. Huge expense and travel headache for 12 year olds. Nothing for kids to do. Broadway was packed and the bars didn’t love having kids there. Hotels sucked. It’s more for the dads to get to go away and talk about how good their kids are and plan for their D1 careers. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere local. The kids are to young to enjoy it and they’d be happy in any hotel with pool and arcade! Jay Peak, Lake Placid and Waterville are great options for that age group.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

The hot moms on the team call it Smashville.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

True, that’s because there’s no hot hockey dads. All fat and bald who are living their lives through their kid.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

I'm not bald:)

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

agree hotels terrible and nothing for kids to do. Our pool was gross and it was closed. Nashville is great if I were 25, single and cared about an SEC football team. 43 with a 12 year old sub elite player who is hungry every 2 hours and picky eater- not as much! Nashville is awesome but way overrated for the hockey tournaments.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

We have been in the past and everyone had a blast. Yeah pricey trip but fun memories made in a spot many hadn’t been to. There is stuff for kids and groups but it takes some planning and research. The restaurants are huge and can accommodate big groups too. There’s probably a home Predators game going on.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

We found a fun group activity of waiting at the oversized baggage claim waiting for the sticks. It was awesome.

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

I'm sure there's 20-30 available seats all next to each other at a Preds regular season game.

Doesn’t look like the entire team needing to sit together was mentioned. Sorry your kid doesn’t make the cut for a fun travel team. Feel free to respond with.. my kid didn’t get cut and all the negatives of travel tournaments. Have fun in Waterville the hotels aren’t disgusting at all and the hockey is really good …. but at least you can afford it

Re: NASH Tournament MLK Weekend

Kids don’t get cut, it’s a regular season team playing in tournament. They are cutting entire teams because the tournament company apparently oversold.. They’d have more fun in Marlboro at the Apex facility!

Waterville hotels are gross!!
