It\\\'s ridiculous. I\\\'ve seen Islanders,eagles,chef\\\'s, Top gun, ect. If you can\\\'t put an elite team together, why bother having one.
My kid plays on one of their teams, and no they do not bring in strangers for games. They have alternates that can\'t come to all the games, but even full time players wear different color helmets because the team isn\'t very strict about wearing black gear.

Why would you assume it's the coach saying that? Could most certainly be a parent.

I thought it was normal and ok for teams to have alternates? I don't agree with it, I think a good team just shows up with their own team, but I thought it was 'ok' as far as the rules go.

yes, a good team just shows up with their own team. Period. But the East Coast Wizards (whoever the hell they are) is not the only org that brings in outsiders to their team. Not sure why they are being called out, then it turns into a whaling session on the E9 when plenty of EHF teams are guilty of bringing in alternatives at all levels.

I am a parent and yes I know this organization. Our regular full-time kids have black, red and white helmets. It's a fact and not BS. Go watch a few practices or games on livebarn and you'll see the same kids every week. Every single kid that's skated in a game has been with us since week 1. Our 2 alternates don't show up for every game but stop with this "bring in kids just to win" BS.

What is going on with the East Coast wizards teams. It seems like they bring new kids to their games at every age group. I have never seen so many different colors, helmets and gloves on one team before in my life. Are they that desperate for a win?
Geez, a little nervous about playing the Wizards this weekend?

Agreed that the bottom teams are terrible but that is happening in EHF too. The bandits/breakers can be beaten by tier 1 teams and has this year. All these leagues have junk at the bottom. They really should make a super league that the teams parity into. I'm sure the stud teams in EHF don't enjoy playing the bandits or breakers. Just like at certain ages top E9 teams hate playing the knights or wizards.

Agreed, it's general. I've had kids in both EHF and E9, so speaking from my experience. There is junk in both lower level teams in each league. But, the EHF doesn't bring in alts to play games just to win. And the coaches actually know the game. The Wizards will pull from anywhere just to try and get a W. In what is, a very average level of play. The best kids on that team, aren't even on that team. Must suck to be on that team, and never play because the coaches are drooling over the "special guests."

Yep, IHC '14 team beat BSB '14 team 13 to 0 last weekend. To say teams in each league are well matched is a joke and it's sad that MA doesn't just use MHR to have teams play each other regardless of what league they're in. Those '14 BSB/bandits teams have won basically no games this year, that can't feel good for them.

It's also not all about games at this age, but still would be nice to have more evenly matched games so the same teams aren't winning and losing.

That’s awesome. Obviously you kid is a lower level elite player and you can’t take it that many of the e9 top players are far better than your kid and that makes you angry. Reality check-the league doesn’t make the player and your kid will likely top off in high school and if he’s lucky may make a college club team. Your kid can’t escape his genes. Enjoy the ride.

First of all, what you just described is every league in MA. What team doesn't have all daddy coaches? Which daddy coach doesn't primarily care about his own kid's development? What league or division isn't usually dominated by the same 3 teams every year?

The E9 is what it is. Somewhere around the bottom of Fed elite and top of Tier 1. My kid moved from E9 to a top T1 team and it's been meh. Nice to not get rolled by the Railers anymore but if you think the E9 is a farce, you haven't seen the bottom of platinum.

I'm guessing the larger point here is daddy coaches that don't know how to coach. And, don't understand that by coaching the whole team, your kid develops in the best way. Don't know who the wizards are, but my kids have been in these bad coached situations before. And, we quickly moved on.

Wizzards are a scam. Carry about 11-12 kids per year and bring in 4-5 alts consistantly. All Dad coaches. Horrible coaching and all about their own kids development. What league or division isn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t usually dominated by the same 3 teams every year?

The E9 is what it is. Somewhere around the bottom of Fed elite and top of Tier 1. My kid moved from E9 to a top T1 team and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s been meh. Nice to not get rolled by the Railers anymore but if you think the E9 is a farce, you haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t seen the bottom of platinum.

It can depend. Many of the dad coaches played high level hockey themselves and know the game well. in MA people who played high level hockey seem to be a dime a dozen.

My kid has been in both EHF and E9 (yes, my kid got cut). EHF, for the most part, seems to be the most strict as far as bringing in outsiders. Each week you show up, you know who you’re playing. E9 is hilarious, especially the bottom half teams. When you add in those “independent” teams, you can forget about it. Any kid in New England that’s available on that given day could show up and play. Are there outlier’s to this statement? Absolutely. This is just my observation.

Please both leagues have alternates showing up regularly.
Anyone that claims EHF does not do this and ahs strict rules in place is flat out lying or just trying to convince themselves.

If your bender is any good in hockey, you want him to play strong competitions. Consider yourself lucky that wizards coach tried to bring in alts to be competitive. Maybe focus more on your bender and help him move up a level, so that you don’t have to play wizards in the future.
