Re: How do I become an IHC parent

Write a check. The same way you become a parent within any org.

Re: How do I become an IHC parent

Most important, yell at the refs they need to keep the game from getting out of control anytime there is any slight contact on a play

Re: How do I become an IHC parent

Years ago when my now high school player was a squirt, a mom of an IHC player berated her little angel after a tie game for not shooting the puck more. Something to the effect of “all the kids on your line suck, you are the best so don’t pass to them” for literally all in the rink to hear. I think about her some days and hope she’s doing terrible. Stay elite IHC parents with your yelling, fighting, and most impressively calling out poor or classless other teams.

Re: How do I become an IHC parent

You can start by making more money and being better at life. IHC is not for folks in your tax bracket. Sorry.

IHC parents/coaches seem to be the worst people. How do I become one?
Every organization has lousy parents. If you don't understand that, then you're one of them.

Start by having a kid that doesn't suck.

Re: How do I become an IHC parent

My kiddo played a year in the IHC organization I think 2 years ago maybe 3. We went someplace and played the LI Gulls. 2-3 moms for the Gulls sitting together. One starts yelling at their coach to take "that" kid off the ice, he sucks... across the ice. These kids were 10 years old. I was shocked.... (that takes a lot!)

There is much worse out there than an IHC parent hoping their kid is safe on the ice. It is difficult coming to terms with the contact in Hockey if you did not grow up with it. That was my experience as well as a first time hockey parent.

My kid still talks to his IHC teammates and I am still friendly when we see them and play against them or with them in the summer.

Every org has some spoiled milk. If you focus on it, it will ruin your day too. Why bother!

That is some Confuscious "stuff" right there!!
