Coach on my benders team (upper, lol) announced to the team that there's a rule that two players can't go to the same team in the same league next year.
IE: bender is on IHC, him and his buddy moving to TG. coach says "illegal" and won't be allowed
Never heard of this with my oldest (plat) and sounds insane to me.
Thought there was always a rule, but I think it was 4 players max????
Nothing is ever simple with the FED.
Here are the rules. Depends on the win percentage of both teams and there are typically ways around restrictions if the program is kind of enough to sign a release
There are rules but not sure how much it is enforced. To be able to take two kids from the same org, the the receiving team needs to finish at or below 25% win percentage and the team losing the players needs to finish at or above 50%.
There is also a rule that one team can't take more than 3 kids from with in the same division ie: elite to elite, Plat to plat
If a player doesn’t get offered a contract from current team then he is not restricted and doesn’t count for TG numbers of players allowed
Thanks all. Caught me by surprise. Told coach we'd be making the move in early January as a courtesy heads up. Said he's still sending the contract, which now makes sense due to the "restriction." Simply moving teams due to drive distance (5 minutes vs 45 minutes each way). It's upper gold, didn't expect the push back from the coach. Additionally he's only made the comment about it being "illegal" to the kids, hasn't addressed the parents.
