Sad to see the old barracks being torn down but life goes on. Was there 10/11/2015 to get a last look and the project manager let me in to take a few pictures. Greatful for the memories...

Assigned old barracks, delivered rations to mess hall. 1967 Ft. Ord entered in the California Soccer Association league, played with the Grenadiers until 1967.
Loved that place and miss all the friends that made. Been there 2005, what a mess they made.

Assigned to 4/17 Infantry, \"Buffalo\" 91-93. First duty assignment, best duty assignment. I later went on to serve in 24th ID, 2nd ID, and 82nd Airborne, but my time as a 7th ID Lightfighter was my best. Never served with more dedicated, hard charging men as I did there. Loved the Planet so much and hated to be PCSed to Korea due to the closure. Hate seeing what it\'s become. The cleanest, most well kept base with the most pride displayed by the men stationed there. Truly an honor to have been a Lightfighter!

Light, silent, deadly! Masters of the Night!
