I have had the pleasure of knowing Mareen since she first came to me as an exchange student from Berlin some 10 or more years ago. It was during her stay with my son and me that she took her first art lessons at Apopka High School. For my birthday that year, she made me a wonderful pencil drawing of flamingos, since I loved these birds so much. I still have it and admire it. Then, when she and her family came to visit me last October, I was so excited to have her original "Hello You!" portrait of her daughters. I must say that each time I look at this wonderful piece of art, I am so proud of how talented she is. Her use of colors, her imagination for subject matter and desire to create beautiful things is amazing. Mareen is a very creative and talented woman, being a dancer [ballet and flamenco], an actress [she appeared in the high school play while here also] and she's an excellent seamstress. I personally admire her abilities as an artist and have and the pleausre of seeing her talent grow for years now. I look forward to owning more of her wonderful creations.

Mareen, you see I might never find out you're artist if not a regrettable fact of 'saying goodbye'. Russians say, whatever happens will turn out to be for the better in the end.
