Re: Agreement

I know it seems more expensive to hire a lawyer than to do this on your own, but a lawyer may be able to save you money in the long run. You have options:

Call a few family law offices and ask if your state allows "limited scope representation." It's is a way for attorneys to offer their services on a less-broad basis. Instead of charging a retainer and taking on a case from start to finish, attorneys can sometimes advise clients on how to proceed on a case-by-case basis. You'll have a chance to ask questions from someone with a solid legal background.

Even if you don't want to go to court, asking a divorce attorney about different options might help you.
