I got my degree prior to getting married. My ex-husband signed off on the divorce decree that states he would assume all debt (including debt in my name only). Now he’s telling me in the state of IN he is not responsible for my old student loan debt. Is this true?

If i’m correct, your husband signed off on debt DURING your marriage only, which doesn’t include your personal debt from college or anything from prior to the marriage. Just like you wouldn’t have to help pay for something he purchased prior to the marriage like a car or house.
