Not married, but on Deed and Mortgage

My fiancé and I have been together 7 years (engaged 5). I sold my home for no profit and moved into his home and I was added to the Deed. When we refinanced and got home equity loan for improvements (new roof, windows, interior renovations) my name was added to mortgage and equity line. Now he has decided we should split, but I'm not entitled to half of the house after it is sold because he lived here 16 years before I moved in. The value of the home has increased drastically since I moved in due to the redesigns/renovations I drew up and we implemented (from bachelor pad to family home). Am I entitled to half?

Re: Not married, but on Deed and Mortgage

I would confirm with a lawyer, but if you are now on the Deed, I don't think it matters how long the house was owned prior to you being added.

Yes you're entitled to half I think. See an attorney.
