Me and my husband of 8 years are getting a divorce. He booked it to Florida and I'm still in Kansas where we got married. He filed a petition for divorce and I sent in a counter petition disagreeing and asking for alimony (he left me with NOTHING). What happens now? He will likely send out a counter petition to MY counter petition but then what? Do I counter back or how does it work? Will the court take over or do we just keep fighting back and forth with counter petitions. I cant afford an attorney and he dont have one either.
