Angle might be to save money for her to talk to a lawyer and see if she can get alimony (if state allows it). But 3 years of marriage isn't alot. Other angle is just to get back at him and not wanting to deal with the issue at hand. Maybe she is regretting. Could be strictly emotional. I can't see a reason for delaying except to be married longer so she possibly get alimony if he makes more than her. He just needs to get a lawyer. My state can be fault and non fault. With fault the monies don't get divvied up 50%. The person at fault gets less.
