Re: Frustrated, Tired & out of patience

Pay for a separate opinion with another lawyer. Look into filing ethics charges again the current lawyer. Did you already pay all the legal fees with the current lawyer. Is this why he doesn't care no more money to be gained or very little money?

I would imagine if the lawyer was worth the salt it would have been in the agreement that the marital home would be rady and put on the market by a certain date and if it didn't sell that each month or two that goes by the price would be lowered to facilitate the selling.

Ditto what Angela wrote.
Deadlines need to be established regarding when the property will be listed for sale. What the minimum offer is that you’d both accept. How long it is to be on the open market at a certain price, followed by incremental reductions, then a ‘base’ number where, if it still hadn’t sold, it gets put to auction - and a reserve price is stipulated.

A legal agreement first regarding the division of assets that a ‘must’ first though, as this should set out how the net proceeds of the sale (ie sale price, minus selling costs incurred) will be distributed between you.

If the the law firm you’re working with is large-is it possible to ask to switch to a different lawyer within the company?
