Did my annual pre-motorcycle weekend at Ames Farm fishing with my dad and brother Mike. Although we had several long stretches of no fish, we ended up with several quality 3 year old fish. The hot spoons were the Red and White Top Gun, Ugly Orange Copper DB Smelt, Orange Copper Smelt Gun, and the Hot Pink head Copper Smelt Gun. We did catch several 2 year old salmon, many newly stocked salmon, 2 small lake trout and one nice rainbow. We were trolling lead at 6 colors and had the riggers at 28 to 35 feet. We saw some fish on top over the weekend as well taking bugs. Saw lots of bait on the fish finder. Two things we do that seems to work for us is to make a lot of "S" turns and Goose the trolling motor to vary the trolling speed. This is easy for me to do with my Troll Master. Also, we tend to stay in an area where we catch fish or see bait pods. Here are a few of the Pictures I took. All fish were released.
