Fished with my Mark and his Father in-law, who flew in for a visit with him. Got on the lake around 7 or so. Came between Diamond and rattlesnake and hooked up a couple small lake trout down 27' on a fuzzy green with orange back guide special. Then the Chappy's blue silver behind the same blades pops a nice salmon. We worked the deep water between Diamond and Welch Island and caught more fish using above mentioned, Wonder bread top gun and white perch fly. total count was 4 lake trout, 1 rainbow and 9 salmon. With 5 of the salmon being shakers. The bellies on the shakers was quite plump. They must be eating good. All fish came between 27-40'. 2-2.2 seemed to be the best speed with an east west troll producing best early and a north south later in the day. The boat chop got worked up pretty good. I was going to give it another go in the am but canceled after seeing today's boat chop and general ramp/ traffic issues. The fish will get a break until next weekend.
Hope everyone has a happy 4th and catches some fish.
