fished 2 days for trout/salmon out of deer cove on the main lake about 1/2 way down on the left side as your heading north. we got 2 salmon on 5 hits on 6 colors on 8/2. then got 1 hit with 0 fish in 3 hrs of fishing on 8/4 doing the same thing. tried mixing up the depths,speed, lures and covered more area but they just were not cooperating. i think i seen joe g out there on mon. where you alone with downriggers?

No, I was on my way home to pick up the wife. I did get out there on tues from 1-6pm. Got a 1/2 dozen salmon, two browns and a bow. Every fish was 13-14 inches long. You don't get many big salmon out on Ossipee, but action is pretty good at times.

too bad we missed each other. i would have liked to met you. we almost went out on tue but i couldn't get out early enough. fished mon and wed and mon was definitely better than wed. do you fish differently for the trout?

You pick up trout with the salmon. When you speed it up to 2.5-3.0 mph you get more bows. I haven't figured out the browns but I have caught more of them this year. I have a 16.5 Sea Nymph with a 15hp Honda. Pull right up beside me if you see me trolling. Going home tonight, but I may be out there around.
