Why don't they make a unit to work with a 25hp?
I would think it would be to your advantage.
People would buy that rather than buying a smaller kicker motor and then buy a control king to boot. That for most people is too costly.

Or for a 2 Stroke?? :-(

Same here, how about 2 stroke? I have a perfectly fine 2 stroke waiting to be used, but don't want to mount it until I find an efficient way to control it.

There is a set up for the Mercury and Mariner 2-cycles. You might contact them about ways to get the old OMC Johnson and Evinrude working.

when the outboards start getting into the 25 H.P. range they are getting out of the kicker application and getting into the main motor range. Most of them are injected or have multiple carbs more complicated carb system.
