I bought my last Mercury 4 stroke - once it's off warranty and you have a "Serious electrical burn out" and nearly a "Fire" your out of luck with Mercury Marine.
I wanted to 'buy American' but they gave me no choice an I will buy Yamaha or Honda, better product !

E-TEC has my vote.4 stroke quiet 2 stroke power and weight and I believe they still have the 5 year warrenty program? polebreaker

Etec has my vote also, fuel efficient and quiet.Starts first time everytime and trolls for hours with no loading up.Evinrude got it right with service also, no hassles.
