Re: From Salmon Angler's Pledge - please read

J.R.
Voluntary Reduction in Effort
On days when you experience high catch rates, particularly when water surface temperatures are above 70 degrees F, consider limiting your fishing time/trip duration. This is difficult to ask of anglers who have a lot invested in their pursuit of these magnificent fish, but this limited fishery is not capable of sustaining high levels of catch and release fishing during the warmest months of the year.

If I get up at 2:30 to drive an hour and a half to catch fish and then start catching fish you want me to drive back home???? If all the bleeding hearts are worried about it volunteer at your own will. Nothing is stopping you.....me, I am fishing....and don't give me the "for the better of the fishery line"...I know a lot of guys who talk the talk meanwhile they are taking their mid summer trophies home.

I don't have a problem with anybody taking anything home after all it's THIER catch.

Salty
If I get into the fish, I'm going to stay right into them. The only way I'll move is if I'm into the 1 yr old runts, so not to hurt them. I worked hard all my life, and God willing, plan on enjoying what's left.
That was a good day's fishing.
Here's good fishing to everyone out there.
nananananananannaaaaaa, nananananananannaaaaa, nanananananananananaaaaa!!!!!!
Hope it works!!!! First time tried in cyber space.

BEWARE FELLOW FISHERMAN/WOMEN!!! I have had salty bless my boat several times with out success. Now that he has put it(the blessing) in words he just might be adding a silent Ba at the beging of our blessings? Salty I really hope that is not the case because if you are, that would not make you a very good sportsman at all. And would have to ask you to return your collar back to the church. Say it aint so. I'll be watching you Sir.LOL

Re: Sun 8/7 We Absolutly crushed Em!

In agreement with Forry, regarding his response to the first reply on this post(no names necessary), I can only say "well put my friend". Wasn't it that type of negative comments that got this site headed in the wrong direction to begin with? I may not be at the same level as I know many of you are with regards to catching Salmon, but I'll just say this, I've been targeting Salmon in Maine and NH for 25+ years and I catch my share of fish, mostly the hard way until recently. I still have a lot to learn, as I'm sure many of us feel we do, but my catch ratio, and more importantly, my "healthy release ratio", has improved drasically over the last two seasons thanks to all of you and this site. And I'll tell you this, I've had some very good days in my time, but never anything close to 40 fish, and man would I love to have one of those days!! And even if i did, I'd release the 40th just as carefully as the first. Have some sportsmanship, or keep your demeaning comments to yourself..........

Re: Sun 8/7 We Absolutly crushed Em!

Sorry Forry and Fishn247, my previous response should have stated "In agreement with Forry's response to JR'S reply to this post, not the "first reply". Come on JR, are you that much better than the rest of us? Should we all start targeting Bass if we want high catch ratio's or what bud? We are all entiltled to our opinions, but there is absolutly no need to be demeaning. Sportsmanship is the key word here. Let's all try and remember that!!!!

Re: Sun 8/7 I Reply !

FYI.... I am...."one hell of a sportsman" !! Hook wound.....? that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard . How the heck do YOU catch fish ???? Kinda hard with out a F N hook.....Look.... I fish hard, hunt hard and buy lisence's from here to as far as I can go. I pay to play! Its the right I purchased....Moving off yearling salmon is hard when you double and the second fish is a 3.5lb rainbow then tripple on lakers then get one to launch out of 40'fow. Where theres bait there preditors.... ME ! Fue Twa !

Re: Sun 8/7 I Reply !

Hey, nice day on the pond, lots of fun on days like that.....Right Throbbin Rods?...
ALL fish brought up are hook wounded, some more than others...All fish have a hard time getting back to the cold water upon release in August. If the state thought that would be the end of the population because of the warm water fishing season would end in July. Hell, I don't even use a rubber net!!
Take the chill pill fellas, way to much negative Ora....

Sounds like a great day! Love the days when you get quality AND quantity. Sounds like you found the honey hole that day for sure. Hope you get into them like that again sometime... and that you have a chance to get some pics next time. Good luck.
