Started the day trolling deep for the big boy lakers that live in here. 5 colors out most of the time on 2 rods. Stopped to fish for smallies and caught a bunch in several places. Some were on beds still. or just starting late. With water temps around 58-60 I would say it may have been a slow start because of all the rain and odd weather.
Found rainbows everywhere. Challenged by seeing them in such large numbers I tossed out some lighter tackle and caught a few. All under 15 but still fun when you did not expect it.
Best fish for the day was a 3 pound 12 ounce smallmouth caught by my nephew. He was pumped.
Wished we caught a laker but we all know they don't call this place no fish nuby for comical reasons. It does not give up fish easily. Still one of the prettiest lakes in our state!
